I don't think the hill will slide. Look at all the rain we had this spring-no slide. The pool sat there for years and they never had a problem. I think a lot of people hope that will happen so they can say "told you so".
I think you are right. Some people have the false notion that someone else's misfortune or failure elevates THEM somehow. Wouldn't it be more logical to take steps to improve one's own self and circumstances?

Why are they building a "Moat" around it?

Ha ha. Not a moat. Retention ponds in case of high water. Not only protects school but will benefit area by reducing flood risk.

New Boston is a great school district and a great community to live in. Our children are just as deserving as any other school. If you don't like it, don't send your children here
I lived in New Boston for a while. It is not a great community to live in. Decent neighbors are few (not that there aren't good neighbors there at all)
I ended up moving because I didn't feel safe.

And the school should've merged with Clay. The kids are deserving, but they would've gotten what they deserved the same if they had merged. probably more. With those few of students it was just a huge waste of money. Common sense. End of story.

You don't think every possible location was investigated? You don't think that every possible risk was evaluated? If you think that, you are just nuts. The school is above the flood plain. Elements of the construction were put in place to compensate for any water displacement. This town is surrounded by hills. The current school is built by a hill. The new school is next to a hill that hasn't slipped even with all the spring rains we had. Just people who think that they so superior that they have to put NB down. Our kids deserve a quality facility just like every other kid. Our size is what makes us so special. Classes of 30-40 make for more personal help. Our school is a family where everyone knows each other. Not just a bunch of nameless kids going into a huge wasteland of a school. FYI enrollment is up this year.
I went to a larger school in a small own. We weren't nameless.

Sorry you couldn't make it at New Boston and to go somewhere easier.
Um, couldn't make it? That's your reasoning?
I am not trying to be mean, but you guys are pretty low on the state ratings.

Why don't you gripe about clay getting a new school and having them merge with New Boston? NB has as many kids as Clay.

No thanks on their kids coming here. We are proud and no need to have our kids state wide scores lowered. I know, pandora's box but Many kids from out lying areas have transfered to NB and their grades we up. New Boston takes the kids who can't function at other schools.

Look on the state site, their only kept open by open enrolement.

I pray to GOD that the "Moat" doesn't end up to be a death trap! Bullies an HS fights.Instead of calling you out in the parking lot it will be at the Moat.

Also, Clay seems to be in a better area.

Yeah, they had to build up the " hill" in front of old school to build new school. Aren't you afraid that will slip.

He griped about me saying something to him. I was explaining that I hadn't spoken to him. This place is crazy. They say laughter is good for your health. That's why I get on here for a good laugh. Happens every day.

Mind your own business. If you don't live in NB you have nothing of value to add to the conversation.
