EMS companies always involve sex, relationships, drama, and opinions about how the company is run. If you work there, don't talk about who you sleep with, keep your nose out of everyone else's business, and get a new job if you don't like yours. If you don't work there currently, hush. You moved on, deal.

And if you work there, I need a phone number for one of your coworkers hehehe.

Well, the funny thing is that the employees is what the community sees, their behavior, attitude, & professionalism. The community wouldn't have a clue what goes on with the management if the employees weren't complaining about it. As with any profession which employees work closely there are sex, lies, & video tapes. Life has been around so long and has been a consistent employer in southern Ohio that there is always a rumor going around about who's doing who, who's buying what, or what's being repossed today. You've gotta remember that if you're on here and you're complaining about it, that at some point you were employed by Life or are still employed. But in the grand scheme of things, you had a job when you needed it. I've said it a 100 times in the past, the only difference in ambulance services is the color of shirt on your back and the signature on your paycheck. As the employee, if you weren't asked to do something illegal stop bitching about things that don't concern you and don't worry what everyone else is doing. As long as you are working and got a job be happy. If you've moved on, stop complaining and let it go.

great points there dont' worry be happy. Now, can we get the ER to understand that shirt colors don't say a thing about the skills of a crew? If I walk in with one on, they assume we overreacted and it's a crap call...if I put on my other shirt, they jump up and take me serious. Don't work at Life, never have. Both of my jobs do hand out checks that always clear the bank, and overtime as I want it. A sign of a great company to work for lol.
let it go

To davery, sorry, not employed there. I've got a job in the healthcare field and a lot of friends at all the companies. I've got to see many aspects of paid and non-paid services up close and personal. Not all ppl in EMS are evil or have screwed their way to the top. Many are respected individuals still today who have morals and live by them. Not everyone in EMS are bad ppl some just love what they do work and go home to a family while others have grown up in EMS and that's all they know.

Well we all know that personell from different facilities always have a preference of which squad to call and ambulance staff are judged by the color of their shirt/squad and not their competency to treat a patient and we have to learn to cope with that. As far as having two jobs that you are able to work overtime as you please, that's fantastic for the employee but not a financial move for the company. it definitely does happen, and like I said, it's great for the employee, but it can add up to a large financial burden for the company if not kept in check. I'm not employed by Life either, but I don't hold it against anyone where they are employed. I've got friends in every ambulance company around. I don't judge you by the color shirt on your back--only by who you are and your skills.
