In 2006, we took our child, whom has extensive medical issues, to see Dr. Turjomon. We arrived half an hour before our scheduled appt. time to fill out paperwork, if nec. We waited three and a half hours to then be told that the doctor could not see us that day. I was upset, as our child was quite ill and we could have went to another provider. A family member has children that are seen in Dr. Turjomon's office and she did bring it to his attention at the time. He stated that he was having serious staffing issues. Our pediatrician recently retired and we once again scheduled an appt. with Dr. Turjomon's office last week.We assumed that the issues had been resolved by this point. We arrived early and after waiting forty-five minutes were told that the doctor would not be seeing our child due to us missing two previous appointments. They stated that we never showed up for the initial visit and that they rescheduled us for a second visit and we did not show up for that either. This afternoon, I went to his office with my family member and brought all of this to his attention, as I had been unable to previously. He acknowledged being told in 2006 of the problem but was not willing to discuss much else pertaining to the situation. An apology would have sufficed. I am seeking nothing more. I would wish for the apology to come from his office manager "Susie", as she is the one I have dealt with on both occasions. Rude is putting it mildly. Which is a shame, as it is a doctor's office. Last weeks visit was humiliating to say the least as she treated myself and our child in a demeaning manner in the company of the entire waiting room. Aside from being extremely disappointed, I do not appreciate being treated unfairly. Nor do I want that type of treatment for my child. I do not recommend this office.

Cowgirl,

When I lived down there I took my daughter, who also has some Medical issues, to Dr. Rick Murphy. The staff was wonderful. I would recommend him.

My kids have went to Dr. Turjoman for three years and he and his office have been nothing but great with us. He has went out of his way to help us, and frequently makes calls on the weekend checking on the kids if one of them is sick. There has been some less than kind staff in the past, but Dr. Turjoman is a top notch doctor that has been great to my family. I know many of other families that go to him and they all like him. Sorry your experience has been bad, but I and many others have had great care with Dr. Turjoman./

I just happened to be sitting in the waiting room the day you were turned away from Dr. Turjoman's office..And yes I do know who you are.
After taking up appointment times that other sick kids could have been seen, because you didn't bother to call and cancel or reschedule, what do you expect? And the choice of language my child and other children heard you say, we were glad you were turned away. And to have the nerve to threaten to call the Medical Board on the doctor then expect and apology!!
The one that suffers the most is your child.
But at least I know the next time I go to Dr. Turjoman's office we won't be subjected to such behavior.

My sister took my niece to him and he said she had excama and when she moved to GA my niece broke out with the same rash my sister in return to her back to the doctor and the pediatrician there said it was mersa. He could have caused her to die because mersa is nothing to mess with!!!! This doctor is full of shit and should not be practicing medicine!!

Get real. Who are you to judge? You can't even spell it. Diagnosis is not black and white. By the way MERSA is everywhere.

Yes, Dr Murphy has some medical issues. One which is that he is not allowed to admit or discharge patients at the local hospital.

I am not going to take part in the doctor bashing as described above... But I would like to correct the individuals who are speaking on topics in which they obvious have no clue what they are talking about. First, would be the whole MERSA chat. The term MERSA is not correct, "MRSA" is the correct abbreviation for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. Yes, this bacterium can cause a harmful rash, but there is also around 10,000 other causes of a rash ranging from bacterium, viruses, and autoimmune disorders. As a medical student myself I find it very entertaining for other people to go off on doctors. I understand that the public expects doctors to be correct 100% of the time, but i pose this question? Are you perfect at your occupation? If you answer yes to this question you are obviously lying to yourself, because there was only one perfect person in this world and we crucified him.

Eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis)is an acute, subacute but usually chronic inflammation of the skin. Atopic dermatitis cannot be cured but in some cases children can grow out of it. If skin care is not maintained any break in the skin can cause a staph infection to occur. Staph is found on all of us and can even cause an infection with a simple insect bite.

I suspect both your doctors were correct with an unfortunate skin infection occurring due to the flare up of the condition.

I personally take my child to Dr.Turjoman and he is an excellent physician as I am sure your new one is as well.

hmm-just a couplr of comments-haven't needed a ped for 25 yrs-mybaby in 30's-cowgirl said she was left waiting w a sick child on 2 occassions for hours-only to b told her child would not b seen because she had missed appointments(i understood that she was there and did not see the dr becauseHE was having scheduling problems)She was also treated rudely AND her sick child still did not get a Dr's attention-This Dr might b great if you get into see him, but,i hope u supporters never r in this situation -i bet you would change your tune-She even went back and he remembered that it was his fault on the first occasion and not even a SORRY,as for her behavior if it was me -worried about my child-publicly humiliated and disrespected by another egomaniacal,Dr.I'd have lost it too.find a PED with talent AND bedside manor

Dr. Murphy retired last year. He wasn't barred from the hospital..he chose not to work the hospital circuit which would include doing rounds or going to the ER for his patients. He preferred office visits only. Maybe he wanted to have time to spend with his family..which alot of DRs dont. And just make a good living..not living lavishly. He was a great Doctor..took care of my kids and my grandkids. I miss him dearly. Now we all go to Dr Tourjamon. He is great and so is Dr. Childers that is in with him. Never had the first problem with them. I would recommend both of these Doctors.

Dr. Troujorman has been my sons doctor and still is.
He has been great with us, his office does not like repeat no shows and understandible so, cause your holding a spot for another child that needs to be seen. Every doctor no matter who it is, can make a incorrect diagnosis, they can only go by what you the parent is telling them and if they do test, various cases have the same symptoms, if you feel uncertain in his final conclusion, then seek another doc, he is a doctor not God and not Mr. Miracle, he is human and can be a little baffled by some cases initially.
If ya think you can do better yourself, then try being a "At Home" self proclaimed doctor, No doctor is 100 percent accurate 100 percent of the time, but they are pretty darn close.
If you wanna bash a good doctor then sighn up for "Med school"

I lived in West Portsmouth for 18 years. I went to a dentist who pulled your teeth instead of cleaning and fixing them (this is why 1/2 of all older people living in "P" town have no teeth). I went to a Dr who gave you a shot and said "go home you will feel better in a few days" etc.....
Well, were am I going with this story.....I have lived in Columbus for 25 years and have found many good Dr's who take the time to do things right and I feel and look sooooo much better then most of my friends I grew up with. They ask "Wow what do you do so differently than we do"! Well I go to good Dr's when I need to and take care of myself.
Sorry the truth is people good Dr's dont live in little hick towns and life there is just hard on the body. Give the best treatment you can to your children, they are "OUR" future. Times have changed as we know but some things dont.
Been there...but will never go back.
