Mr. King is just a figure head at Cabrillo and one has to question his priorities if he has time to testify at a parole hearing of a student. What about ALL of the rest of the students, where is your commitment to them? Jumping ship and going to a system that has a budget twice that of Cabrillo's on a per capita basis would sure make life easier for you. OF course, spending the next 3 months searching for a new President would take it's toll as well.

I am very impressed with the commitment and skill of Mr. King, and I'm not surprised that he might be in demand from other schools. He has been a good partner for UCSC, and his departure would be a loss for Santa Cruz / Capitola.

Mr King is a career opportunist who previously announced that he was 'leaving' for another position, due to family matters, only to reverse his decision.
Seems to me he is always on the look out for the next best opportunity and has no real commitment to Cabrillo or the Monterey Bay area. When he leaves, for this opportunity or the next, the college should select a successor with a clear dedication to the campus, rather than a mere 'passer-by'.

Brian,

You deserve this opportunity to follow the fantastic footsteps of Dr. Martha Kantera long-time friend and associate. Foothill - De Anza sets a national standard and would both welcome and challenge you. Of course, Silicon Valley's gain would be the coast's loss, but your "over the hill" work will only help to tie us all together even more.

Good luck!
