dorman Produts's Help! line is awful. Hey Dorman -it might help if you learn what the hell design tolerances are.

I don't know what type of materials they use for their seals and gaskets, but it is clearly inferior. I have an oil pump seal AND gasket both leaking after 13 months. WTF? I guess they had a 1yr warranty. These parts should last close to 10yrs. Dorman = crap.

I have purchased a number of products from Dorman. Ordered from the jobber or over the net. I would not have ordered if I had know the product line was Dorman. Every - E V E R Y time I get one of their POS it fails. Last time I ordered a cruise/signal lever, the connector was 2x the size of OEM, meaning it could not be fed through the steering column without complete disassembly of the column. After installation found that the switch did not work anyway. May not be indicative of Dorman products themselves, just that nearly all Dorman products come from China. Had to replace the switch with a used junk yard unit to obtain quality. What does that say about Dorman?

They aren't talking about the working conditions, they are talking about their product. It is clearly inferior if not a rip-off. I would look for a backup plan in case they belly up from lack of sales or lawsuit.

I'm not sure. Pay varies on what job you get. The interview process is not hard. They hire people with no experience in the ware house all the time.

I don't doubt that they hire people with no experience. Look how their reviews are.
As for saying their sales are up 20% every quarter(which is said, not proven), it goes to reason that in a depression people tend to buy as cheap as possible. There's no doubt you can make crap cheaper than people can make good items.

If the products are failing you, It is the fault of our supplier. We just get the products, sometimes pack it, and ship it out. We have no control on how the product works or not. The pay is great, and the company really treats their employees great, dinners every month or so, paid holidays off, and its a family there, they treat everyone with respect....GREAT PLACE TO WORK FOR!!!

Okay,
Two weekends wasted trying to get a Dorman gear to fit and S-10 front differential gear. Had to hammer it on after O'reilly tech told me that was probably normal. I did not like it as the stock slid on nicely. Tried napa, again Dorman, too tight and could not get axle shaft on. Call GM dealer who happened to be open for parts till 4 open a Saturday and it fit smoothly. Everything went back together great. Last time I order anything with critical tollerances from Dorman. I am Livid!
