After a long day of work, we wanted to go out for dinner. We decided to go to the Fireside and soon found out that the service there sucked. After we were seated, we sat there for 15 minutes and didn't even get a drink so out the door we went. We went across the street to the White Village where the service was fast and frendly. If you don't mind sitting in a noisy place and waiting for a drink, the best place to go would be the Fireside.

Yours is the first bad review I've heard since the news owners took over. Hopefully your experience was unique.

Let me guess. You are promoting White Village.

Sorry, my husband and I also went there for dinner. We waited close to a half hr. after being seated to be given a glass of water and told that someone would be there shortly to take our order. They passed by us quite a few times w/ smiles, but nobody ever took our order. We left.

I noticed your post said "Buffalo". Everyone knows you can change your post location if you really want to appear "not local". Is this the same person promoting White Village?

No, Mr. "know it all" I am not the same person promoting White Village. I am local, and my venue has always come up as Buffalo - I have no reason why. My husband and I try to shop and dine as much as we can locally. The White Village is very nice, but we wanted to try The Fireside as well. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, our service was not good. Satisfied?

Not really. I've been in both places and see no difference in the service. Both places are eager to serve. That's why they are there. I've been at both places when they were busy and waited to get service. Next time you are frustrated and can't get served quick enough, try a few roller dogs at Country Fair. They even have a special with a fountain drink and generic chips.

Not only are you a know it all, but you are rude, pompous and arrogant as well. Pathetic! You always assume that if you have positive experiences, that everyone else does too. Not always so. I am sure that Country Fair will appreciate your wisecrack about them. That was not nice and below the belt. Furthermore, there are families who consider that meal a treat, esp. in the Summer or if you are on a road trip and want something quick.

Read it again. I didn't say there was anything wrong with Country Fair food. I eluded to the fact that you were rushed for time. You can snork down two dogs and go on with your life.

Now, lets talk about rude, pompous and arrogant. Ms. Putnam poured thousands into a boarded up dump. I don't know how many thousands, I venture to say between $50,000 and $100,000, and came up with a beautiful restaurant that was once a boarded up dump. All meals are custom made, she serves the finest wines, and does as much as she can to please customers. She didn't pour her hard earned money into that place to fail. As a customer, if it didn't exactly go he way you planned, leave. don't go back. What you don't have to do is blast your "bad experience" on the internet, hiding your identity. If you weren't happy with the service, why didn't you either 1.) call the owner, or 2.) forget about it. This lady contributed to the economy by purchasing a boarded up dump, hiring contractors to completely remodel it, and hired a staff of employees that now have full time jobs. Now you come along and attempt to put a nail in her coffin. A lot of businesses are out here struggeling trying to make ends meet and hold together their business. Arrogant? Rude? Look in the mirror. If you can't say something good about a business that is contributing to a dying part of the north, than please don't say anything at all.

Way out of line Ins. Rep. American Rider started this thread with a highly negative review.(with in their right) ADA just stated that they did not have a good exerience--she did NOT bash the place at all. White Village proudly states on their menue that customers need to be prepared for a "wait". No one on here is promoting one place over another. ADA has always been a fair and honest poster on the Dunkirk threads. You, on the other hand...well let's just say you rank up there with Joe and Clyde and Gus...firm and unwavering views...I have not been there since the new owners, but family memebers have and were not overly impressed. They also felt the service was slow, food was nothing to write home about, and was over priced. They gave it two tries and have no desire to go back. NO business will ever appeal to everyone and there will always be people with good and bad experiences. We see this with the threads like "Who has the best...pizza, wings, subs," etc...

With all that money spent on remodeling it seems like they could have hired some good help.

Im not impressed with the Fireside, the food was average, the service was adequate but nothing to brag about and the environment was awful.. Loud and uninviting, ive been in quieter school cafeterias. She should have spent some of that $50k on some insulation to deaden the noise.
