I will tell ya that I don't mind Directv. There are a couple of things I will point out.

Idk what Time warner's prices are a month, I have 5 recievers and almost every channel and pay $200 a month, If you love football they have the Sunday ticket. I have always had good experience with customer service. They also offer (for $15 or $20) a month, not only insurance on the recievers, but your electronics. I don't have it, but it was explained they cover TV's, computers, etc. If they can't fix it, they replace it.

One thing I don't like....don't ever give them your bank account information. My mother passed and I had paid her bill from my account. They decided to bill my account for her balance after they knew she passed, because "it was the last method of payment used". She wasn't even on my account. I did eventually get the money back with the help of my bank. That is the only real issue that I have had with them.

The dish services around here suck. Their salespeople lie like cheap rugs, the service is buggy as hell, and the price goes right up to the same levels as cable as soon as your introductory period is over. Time Warner isn't cheap, but the signal is good, the options are good, and there are actual people to take calls and make service calls if something goes wrong. I was a dish customer for a few years, suckered in to their fake cheap rates. After signal outages, terrible service, and price switching, I'll never go back.

I have had both, I recently switched to DirectTV and so far I am really happy with it. It's so much cheaper than TWC. I agree with TWC automatic billing, I wouldn't recommend it. They were charging me after I cancelled my service and gave me a hard time about refunding my money. They wanted to credit me. What I would have used the credit for, I don't know! I haven't had DirectTV go out and I have 3 receivers with whole home dvr for a fraction of what I paid with TWC. Best of luck!

We switched from Direct TV to Time Warner in March. Nothing but problems. Went through 2 receivers, took 3 months for them to get the billing info correct. No Pre-Season Football. Momma is not happy, and am switching back to AT&T Uverse.
