has anyone experienced harassment by the hamburg police. i am gathering evidence and am hoping to start a class action lawsuit and close down that rent a cop shop.

Yes, it you don't mind it being from 1980. His name was Billy Wayne and he tried to give me a ticket for squeeling my tires out of the gas station, after he sound his siren when I walked between his car and mine. Scared the you know what out of me, made me mad is why I did it. Told him that unless the owner of the gas station made a complaint there was nothing he could do. He was a jerk, he also tried to pick up every female, married or not that lived in Hamburg.

AND WHILE WE ARE ON THAT SUBJECT THE ASHLEY COUNTY SHERRIFS DEPT IS A JOKE THEY ALSO NEED TO BE DELT WITH ESPECIALLY JOHNNY OLIVER AND MICHAEL VORHEESE they are the biggest jokes of the dept. but we need to all ban together vote all the crooks out and just take care of ourselves we would gain alot more by doing so.....

Yes many moons ago I was beaten and dragged. They remember me quite well. They are racist, and Oliver and his crew has been getting away with it for years. Blacks dont stand a chance against that department. They need to be investigated. They give blacks long prison and jail time, while whites get away with it. They need to be shut down and investigated to the fullest.

Oliver is a liar, a crook, and was a James Robinson boy. he got beat so bad in his last lost cause for sheriff he needs to wear a paper sack over his head. I agree completely. These are very crooked officers. I know them very well. I've worked with them all. The city is just part of the problem. The county sheriff David Johnson is as sorry as David Oliver in his complete career. Calvin Frierson now there's a joke. Likes to pretend no-one knows more about law than he does. He pulls out his little race card often to, Bo get over this already! Black people need to show they can have problems with law without screaming racist. You can't win against a city when the whole county is crooked. I would suggest to stay away and let them live in their own misery.

In 1987 I was traveling through Hamburg late one night. A policeman (I've always thought it was a state trooper but not positive) stopped me right south of town. Of course he blinded my vision with his two spot lights. Made me get out of my car and walk toward the lights. I couldn't see a thing except the light.
I got a glimps of a man walking back toward the police car on the opposite side of mine. This fellow, not in uniform I discovered later when I could see) hollers to the policeman that my car is clean. He couldn't have searched my car since I locked it when I left it. I saw this man put something back into the police car.
They kept me for about 45 minutes to an hour telling me they were checking my records. Finally they let me go.
I figured out later the man who was on the other side of my car intended to plant something in my car so they could charge me with it.
I was told later the state cop in Hamburg was a crook and would do anything to arrest someone.
I'm sure locking my car saved me that night.
First rule if you are stopped is only crack your window enough to pass your papers to the cop. Second rule is if you are asked to get out of the car lock it behind you and put the keys in your pocket. Then unless they see something in your car like drugs or booze they can't search it without a warrent.

See...it's easy to blame it on the OTHER man, when your wife was half the problem. That says alot for you. Maybe you were not doing your job. Now....hush and sit down. Let me tell you something about David Oliver and the other crooks in Ashley County. The FBI had investigated them more then once, and sent James Robinson to federal prison. Oliver is a punk and liar, I have seen him lie as a cop. Oliver has been a sneak, even having intimate relations (Or so he bragged) with his ex sister in law, and laughed how his ex brother in law never knew!
Ashley County can never win a trial, they are not trusted.

Hamburg PD is a joke of a police department for hiring Oliver after all the crap he has pulled. David Oliver is a liar, and a dirty cop. He will do illegal searches and claim he knows the law, he will pat a black man on his back, and call him the worst kind of name 10 minutes later, and yet no one has the guts to pursue an investigation.

like it or not these guys have been here doing a job that you take days or months to sit and critize however as much as you talk trash if you needed them you would relly want them around just because you find one dirty or crooked cop dosent mean that they all are. Don't really know david oliver but I do know johnny oliver and Vorhease and have seen them both do there jobs very diligently for some time They even came to my house once for a problem with my teenage son and were very concerned and took time to help. alot of people in this town give johnny and vorhease a bad name however they both have been around a long time and really work hard to help the community as for david johnson he is the best sheriff this county has ever had. sorry for your bad experiences but you were prob. screwing up and caused them to have to do there job

Almost everyone who commented on this is a joke. Why would you bring something up from 1980 and 1987? If you didn't handle your business back then- get over it. I read this and laughed, not because this entertained me but because I thought "What Cowards" to make all these comments then not even have the spine to put their name behind it. To the undercover person from Menifee,AR stay there and DON'T LET THE SUN SET ON YOUR BEHIND IN ASHLEY COUNTY for you to think Johnny Oliver needs to be dealt with it is clear to me that you don't know this MAN at all. I can get him to share his knowledge with you if you'd like!!! I have 2 kids coming up in this community and I appreciate the job these guys do. Like someone said those who commented in a negative way don't have the balls to do what these guys do. I think it is ridiculous to make all these accusations without actions.
