Cult or Culture Shock

A group called the U-S Peace Government plans on moving in near Smith Center, Kansas, but many residents aren't welcoming the group in; calling it a cult.

i believe this is a very fast-growing cult, which, according to its Web site, has been around for about four decades.
i also believe that if i were to show up at their compound in smith center (when it is completed) that they could care less about me, being a person of few means. people will do anything for money, power and control.

You don't live in kansas stay in your CO State. Post your lies some other place. Its not a cult. Look up the church of satan,compare the two and if you could use your closed minded brain to see its not a religion at all. I use to live In Suck Center Kansas, and the bible is rewritten to fitten your needs. Grow up this is a FREE country. You are small minded because I think you forget that the very foundation that this country was built on was freedom.

I've been here 28 yrs also a CA transplant and my feeling is anything that can help float the local economy gets my vote. As free-living Americans we aren't obligated to subscribe to any philosophy whatsoever. All I've read and heard of these folks is they follow the teachings of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, recently deceased, and his teachings were harmless, peaceful, and based on the practice of meditation. It's a lot like what Christians do in church, and portend to practice daily, but it just doesn't contain all the hysteria. A smart and enterprising person might look into seeing what services this group needs and maybe provide it. It's "new money", and that's never been bad.
