Fire threatens Region 8 business

HOXIE, AR Multiple fire crews are on the scene of a fire in Hoxie, AR. A field fire has broken out near Anderson's Auto Salvage and is rapidly spreading as fire fighters try to race against the clock to keep more turf from burning.

Come on Alex Latham, we are the only county in the state of arkansas without a burn ban. Do the right thing.

It wouldn't matter if there was a burn ban or not. There would still be fields burning. Some people think they are above the law.

It appeared that some farmer had decided to burn his old tires today. The smoke was black not white.
I guess they just don't care what they burn.

It was not a farmer and the tires were not deliberately set on fire. In fact the news said a cigarette started the fire.

Someone threw a cigarette stub away and started the fire. If people have to smoke they need to make sure they put the stubs all the way out.

My friend you can be in denial all you want this was definitely a cigarette butt it was even at a farm field.
