My boyfriend is currently in Bob Wiley Detention Facility in Visalia (Tulare Co)- he was at the Tulare Co Jail before that. He was very sick and the guards kept ignoring him - he has a history of problems with pneumonia - he was so sick the other inmates kept telling the guards - this guy is going to die. They finally did something about it. Also, the guards are very mean and say things like "use your socks" when an inmate asks for toilet paper. I feel that it is abuse of power.
It is very easy to end up in jail - not everyone there is a bad person - bad things happen to good people too.

jail isnt any fun and its horable that innocent people are put there, but it isnt supposed to be fun. its a form of punnishment intended to teach people to do better so they wont want to return. it sucks but if we didnt have law n order or consiquences can u imagine what the world would be like.

it would be a very very bad place...the world is full of evil people. and I'm glad that many are locked away, and not running around doing harm.

First of all u guys are wayyyyy off subject. this is about someone dying in jail. he was an old man and he was guilty of his crime but this is not a place to complain about how mean people are in jail. you idiots gotta understand its jail peopleyour not supposed to be treated like royalty dumbasses. Ive been in jail here in tulare county and the CO's treat you like you treat them. so if u stop acting like a bitch and do your time and realize its jail then u will get along just fine and hell yea it sucks its jail stop whining. BTW the guy that died in jail was my cousin so please stop complaining about your little ass problems or your old mans problems (car) tell him to stop trying to act like a man when hes out of jail if hes only gonna act like a bitch in there. grow a pair u fucking pussy. u all know the saying "you do the crime you do the time". so stop bitching.

Tony, you had the right attitude (wrong language though) about jail. I bet most of those complaining never go to visit and minister to someone in jail or prison. I am not talking about the relatives, but visiting someone that just needs to be visited. To restore hope in those that have lost it. To know that there are those that care. To realize that without change, the destination will be the same. I go into Bob Wiley 2 times every week, as well as a lot of prisons, and do it because I was called to do it. Trust me, I fought God for a long time refusing to go in. Now yu have to fight me to keep me out.

I believe that we have jails and prison for a reason and that's because we have consequences to our actions but the officers should also have consequences to their actions. Just because you put a badge on someone doesn't give them the right to treat another human being like their dirt. The inmates are paying the price for their crime aren't they? So the officers need to do their job correctly. I don't care how much crap they put up with all day. This is their job, THEY CHOSE IT!!!! There is an oath that they all take but how many of them go by it. As citizens we would not get away with treating people the way that they do, we would lose our job. These inmates need to be treated with respect because it's not the officers job to judge them or be mean to them there job is simply to watch them. Maybe they need to take there oath more seriously. I mean what makes them any better than the inmate with them conducting themselves in the manner that they do and the language that they use. God is always watching and even if they do not have to deal with any consequences now in the end they will. Jesus says to walk in love, he doesn't say walk in love but not to inmates. Amen!!!
