Let's all wish a very special man a Happy 82nd today! A long-time P'ville resident (moved away in the late 80's), loving, dedicated family man, hard working Carpenter, WWII Vet., and the best Grandad there is in the world! My childhood memories are filled with watching Saturday morning cartoons at their house, maybe dropping by Mamaw Nell's dress shop for a bit, then riding up to Wood's Lumber to get some 2X4s, and then on to his next job site. His mark and legacy are all over the Bootheel from his many homes and churches that he and my Uncles built; most of which, are still providing shelter and worship today. If you have any great Joe and Nell stories or memories, please share them. Happy Birthday Papaw! May you have many, many more!

I could share thousands of stories of how this man worked and sacrificed to give his kids and grands the things he never had. He has a big loving heart, he has a quiet reserved but deep love for his family. His years of toil are paying him back now with bad health and inability to get around the way he would like too.
His pride stands in the way too much of the time. What he would have cherished most on his birthday would have been just one phone call. Don't let your pride stand in the way.

I would lie down in the middle of the North Dallas Tollway during rush hour traffic if I could give that man his health back....Love you Pa.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Aquarius

You will not be satisfied in your work place, but give it some time and things will fall into place. Those in the construction business should get some good news. Aquarian homebodies will find things rather hectic and may develop a headache by the end of the day, so you should avoid negative thinking as much as possible.
