Guardian Automotive completes purchase of Siegel-Robert Automotive

Auburn Hills, Mich.– May 1, 2008 -- Guardian Automotive, Inc., a subsidiary of Guardian Industries Corp., announced today that is has completed its share purchase agreement with Siegel-Robert, Inc., and acquired the automotive parts business known as Siegel-Robert Automotive. Headquartered in Fenton, MO, a suburb of St. Louis, Siegel-Robert Automotive will continue operations under its current name and management team. Terms of the purchase agreement were not disclosed. Siegel-Robert, Inc. is a privately held company – and the largest manufacturer of chrome plated plastic parts for the automotive industry in North America.

“Siegel-Robert Automotive has a track record of success and a proud heritage of serving the automotive industry,” said Jim Davis, president of Guardian Automotive,“Like us, it is a private company so we speak the same language. The brand is well established in its North American segment and complementary to our business portfolio. We look forward to a continuity in Siegel-Robert Automotive management, quality and customer service and ongoing growth in the global business environment.”

Siegel-Robert Automotive was founded in 1946 and today supplies grilles, door handles, nameplates, and other trim products to major automotive manufacturers. Guardian Industries was founded in 1932 as a supplier of glass products to the automotive industry but has grown substantially through the years in other business segments including float glass and building products. Its Automotive Group in Warren, Mich., has two business units, glass and trim; the latter is expected to complement Siegel-Robert Automotive.

Guardian operates automotive trim manufacturing plants in Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia (2), Michigan and Spain (2). Siegel-Robert Automotive’s plants are located in Missouri (2), Kentucky, Tennessee (3) and China.

“The automotive industry is global,” Davis said,“and the successful participants are present around the world. Together, we’re unmatched in global presence, which is a compelling and strategic reason for this agreement. We are a very good fit.”

Firing (esp. in Kentucky) seems more likely

Yeah they were getting rid of alot of people, mostly deadbeats who wouldnt show up for work half the time and that called in just about everyday, and those that wouldnt work when they were there. They hired people in those spots, and put people in there that would do a better job. If you're so "madaboutit" then you must be one of the deadbeats!

You must be one of the dead beats that they kept because you obviously think all the losers they kept does a good job which means you must not do a good job. They fired a lot of really great workers just because they didn't have a place for them at the time. They kept a bunch of lazy people because they knew someone or they were cute or some reason.

If they were FIRED they were NOT good workers. The good ones will be called back if they CAME to work and did their job.

"glory", how is it that you bring up something about pills, from the comment they made? You dont know who they are, or what they do...their comment had nothing to do with "taking pills". Sounds to me like YOU should lay off the pills, and everything else you're doped up on.
