Fisher Stoves is just another company Larry has started since he closed the doors at Free Heat Machine 2010 so they didn't have to deal with all the warranty problems. He started a new company in 2011, same furnace different color-changed it from green to grey. I was not the only one ripped off by this guy Larry and Free Heat Machine. Now he has started another new company--Fisher Stoves--same furnace changed the color to pumpkin. This is the same guy in all the videos from all three companies. He has that same phony good ole boy trust me act. It seems there should be a way to get the word out so other people don't get hurt like I was.

Bruce--Larry Boyd was Vice President of Timber Ridge aka Free Heat Machine---he had his partner file bankruptcy and then Larry Boyd open up Biomass Direct the next month he has now started another OWB company-- Fisher Stoves, He had many warranty problems and customers who put down deposits at FHM and he didn't deliver their furnaces or give them their money back. Other post put the total lost to customers not delivered is in the $60,000 range. The Tennessee Consumer Affairs has an ongoing investigation on him and has his recent companies.
Hope this helps.

I never got anywhere other than frustrated. I just got the furnace welded, a major leak and one week after operating it again another leak started. I did a nice post on Larry Boyd/biomass direct/timber ridge on my website. One of the replies is worth the visit it was by his former book keeper. I feel for the lady. If I can stop one person from giving this scumbag another dime I'll be happy.

In response to the Biomass Direct 2012 Official Statement: Timber Ridge, Inc.'s Voluntary Petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of Tennessee filed in April 2007 under Section 21 "Current Partners, Officers, Directors and Shareholders" Mr. Boyd is listed as Secretary of the Corporation owning 49% of the stock in the corporation. Did Mr. Boyd make false claims on this federal document or false claims in the official statement listed above? Just finished reading the 2007 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by Timber Ridge---Sure enough Larry Boyd was Secretary of Timber Ridge and a 49% shareholder, not some lowly employee with no decision making powers,as he claims. Section 23 states he also took close to $90,000 for he and his wife for distribution as withdrawals from partnership of the corporation 2009-2007. I checked with the State of Tennessee--Larry Boyd was listed on the annual reporting as an officer Timber Ridge up till they closed the doors late 2010. Calling the Biomass Direct 2012 Official Statement false is an understatement!
Waiting for a corrected Biomass Direct 2012 Official Statement for Larry Boyd but there are customers of his who lost deposits and are still waiting for their money.

Need to correct the paragraph below from post above.
Section 23 states he also took close to $90,000 for he and his wife for distribution as withdrawals from partnership of the corporation 2009-2007.

The years for the money received should be 2006-2007 not 2009-2007.

Wouldn't want to be called a Larry Boyd.

I was lured into a biomass wood boiler by the low cost of the stove. After paying in full I waited (10) weeks for the stove to be delivered to Michigan. This was after reading about Larry Boyd on this forum. I had the smallest central boiler built that burned for (8) hours, I felt I needed a lager stove with a longer burn time so I ended up with the biomass 400 L S witch only burns for (6) hours there fore it will not go through the night. Not to happy Guess I will sell it next year and buy the larger central boiler.

I live in nc. It heats 2 houses and my garage I fire it once a day though I do on very cold days add some . Love my stove. It has paid for its self many times . 4224

I have a Free Heat 150 unit that I inherited with a house and property I recently bought. I know there are the horror stories, and that the company is out of business along with the subsequent companies started by the guy. My boiler has recently developed a leak and I wanted to know what is the best method and materials for repair. Also, when summer comes, what do you guys do to shut down the boiler and prep it for non use in the summer. Does anyone have a source for a owners manual?
Thanks.

Larry Boyd or Tim Arrowood never manufactured anything to my knowledge. Everything about Timber Ridge was a lie. For years the stoves were made in Canada by Global Hydronics and shipped to Jonesborough tn.Before the were off the truck the labels were changed. Near the end they started buying a copy of the Global furnace from another manufacturer which I think was called Maverick As for Fisher, Larry was a dealer for them and went out of business. Fisher as I recall was a great product.
