People want to know what happened to the shoes. Did the thieves get the shoes? Were the shoes damaged? Do all these muggers wear the same size shoes? Size humungus?

Sad. Pitiful. That's why those shoes will never appeal to me. Wearing Air Jordans is like wearing a bullseye. You become a walking target just to wear a pair of shoes that probably cost $5 to make at a sweatshop. Truly pathetic.

It doesn't make any sense. These coloreds are stealing each other's shoes? And who pays $400 for a pair of sneakers? You can get them down at the Kresge dime store for five dollars. How much does this boy make that he pays that much for gym shoes?

There's a million stories in the naked city. This story goes that the boy worked and saved all summer for the shoes. If so, I don't begrudge him from making this choice. Young kids do not have houses or cars. These single items of glory mean everything to them. Our economy is based on motivation producing work to achieve goals. In this case it did not work out for the boy, yet he still remains motivated.

I still have a Triple Phat goose down jacket. Should I be worried (other than the obvious fashion sense).

It was the popcorn that really brought the traffic. The Kresge next to the Wards at Greenfield and Grand River was connected inside. The popcorn popper was just on the Kresge side.

Saunders was down the street on the north side. Robert Hall was two blocks down on the south side. Great Lakes Theater further down.
