I don't understand how NorthShore was built to help the needy and the needy is who they are taking to the cleaners. The CEO,CFO,and all the other 6 figure staff members, that take those high salaries and turn away those that can not afford to pay the fees. There is normal doctors offices that charge less than northshore. Started out for the right reasons..as everything else-screw the needy and line the pockets of the wealth.

I agree with you on Northshore. I took my kids there out of fear of the N1H1 We don't have insurance and since my husband did not work at all last year and we don't have w2's to show income since he was hurt and you don't claim Workers comp on taxes the bill was $500.00 for 4 kids that used 1 appointment and took about 20 minutes.

They won't refill any medication at all, so if you have a chronic condition you have to pay for a doctors visit every time you need a refill. Hmm. 100 bucks for a visit plus a prescription for a week. Then next week repeat. You can go to a reg doctor and get refills for at least 2 or 3 months. I called to make an appointment for a bladder infection and need a gynacological exam and was told that I can't do them at the same appointment because they need to charge me for TWO visits! SCREW THEM! I am not going there for anything any more. They are NOT any more affordable!

OH AND I LOVE waiting on the phone for 45minutes to make an appointment ONLY TO BE TRANSFERRED and made to wait on HOLD even LONGER! IF you call to speak to the DOCTOR you can NEVER get a call back.
Nice looking building, GREAT for people with insurance or medicaid I am sure, But I can't afford to have hubby return to the doc every single week for his back.(triple spine fusion) He is better off going to our old doctor and paying cash.

It works out way cheaper in the long run. Northshore reminds me of the free Clinic or County Health Department type places except its not free it COSTS just as much if not MORE than a Regular Doctors office.

And don't even BOTHER with the Dentist office, it took them 1 month to get me an appointment for a broken and infected tooth, that they x-rayed and diagnosed. They gave me 12 pain killers to last the month. I finally called them when I was about to perform surgery my self it hurt so bad and asked them if I could have a appointment today to get it pulled or a couple more pain medicines to last until the appointment. NOPE, you have to come in for another appointment for us to do that. NOW they have my records in front of them with the xray of the broken infected tooth, 12 medicines for 33 days I was on day 28. Their position don't know what to tell you; suffer.

I called my old dentist in Chicago and he pulled it that day.
When I got it pulled I asked the doc what he thought about it and the pain I was feeling, he said the tooth was infected and that it was half dead and that was why it hurt into my ear and to the center of my chin.
I won't go there EVER AGAIN!

OH and the dental office likes to make patients who don't have insurance sit there while they take people who come in 20minutes after you.

So your appt is at 8:00am you are there, joe smoe walks in 20min later and his appointment is at 8:15 and he has insurance so he goes right in. Nice way to treat people.

I did see a couple commercials on tv for north shore though. I wonder how they can afford commercials and give people.

$500 bucks for 20 minutes is how.

I understand the frustration of both individuals posting the 2 previous comments. NorthShore Health Centers is under the control of a highly-politically connected dictator (the CEO). She has no interest in helping the needy or uninsured or underinsured. The CEO only takes interest in MONEY FROM PATIENTS and receives FEDERAL GRANT MONEY on a regular basis. Essentially tax payers are paying for services and the CEO forces the clinic to overcharge patients to line her pockets with cash. THE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO TAKE A STAND. THIS IS A FEDERALLY FUNDED CLINIC. NORTHSHORE HAS AN OBLIGATION TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY. CONTACT "HRSA" OR YOUR LOCAL POLITICIANS. THE CEO OF NORTHSHORE NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. I AM WAITING.
