Must have needed new facilities but didn't want to shell out more than the insurance deductible.

It's a SUGAR refinery, not an oil refinery.

sugar refinery, not oil refinery, and I don't think they were making ethanol. Brown sugar how come dance so good. Life is not so sweet for these people though. I have not heard of so many people getting hurt from the sweet stuft since the molasses flood in Boston.

Please keep everyone at the Sugar Refinery in your prayers. I've lived in Savannah all my life, and I've had pleanty of family...aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. that have worked at the refinery at one point. This is such a horrific event.

Lots of people in critical condition. My thoughts and prayers go to them and their families.

Also, I wonder how this will effect regional manufacturing and pricing - the plant is the largest sugar manufacturer in the country. How many companies rely on them as a vendor for product ingredients? From the sounds of things, the amount of damage may keep the plant closed for a while. There's gonna be some people scrambling in the morning to keep other companies in operation.
