Oh the pain that is in those people's families...the anxiety. How excruciatingly horrible for both the patients & their families. May God help them! Did we ever find out how this thing started? It would only take a tiny spark. Where did it come from? What kind of process does it take to refine sugar anyway. Can this happen with artificial sweetener?

I'm happy to hear that the 911 person didn't waste time asking stupid questions. Seconds counted in this disaster. To boydm: Dust is explosive. Sugar, grain, coal dust, they are all very explosive in the right air mixture
