Please be nice and don't do any name calling of the kids, this discussion should be about the program itself.

all i have to say is a cheerleader should not commit a crime because the younger girls look up to them and sexting is definately a crime. it is not just morally wrong it is legally wrong too.

I think the tryouts should be redone, not only because of the girl with the 10 point deduction situation, but also if there was a conflict of interest with a girl trying out having her mom and sister as judges, that girl is good enough to make it no doubt about that, but you can't tell me her mom and sister don't know her friends and their parents and that didn't come into play somehow, it really wasn't fair, they should get judges who do not know anyone affiliated with the school district.

all I have to say is I pray to God my daughter doesn't want to be a cheerleader when she hits highschool because I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to put up with these cheerleader moms. You would think you guys are the ones in highschool. Your day is over. Let the kids be kids. Life is not fair. They will either learn this now or later. Obviously things at IV are all screwed up. If you really feel that strongly about it, change schools. Big deal, a girl made a mistake. I would hate to think how many of your kids have broken the law. They drink, have sex, do drugs and half of you have no idea. So when your kids failures are all publicized, then you can start ridiculing them and everyone else. Get over it!

I feel that we can try to do our best to teach our kids right from wrong. Kids these days have no respect for their parents or for themselves. I personally feel they should have taken this young lady off the squad. What she did was wrong. I can remember when a friend of mine was kicked off the football team his senior year for getting into a fight. It didn't happen on school property, but because the police were involved he was told he would not be allowed to be on the team. If getting into a fight warrants getting kicked off the team, what makes it right for this girl to stay on the squad. And by the way the same people that made the decision to kick him off the team are still working for this school today. Oh maybe they have different rules for different people. It all depends who you are and what your name is. I will always believe that. That's the sad part about this world today. If this kind of behavior is tolerated by the parents and the school system then what's next?

Many say cheerleading is a sport, so be it. If that is true, then the coach of that sport has the right to pick his or her team.Or should we have strangers also decide who is on the basketball teams, football team, volleyball team etc. If it is a sport team then the coach should pick the girls, she will have to work with them all year. "Politics" French word meaning--I didn't make it and can't face the reason why.

How about having a dance team for the girls to do half-time routines at the basketball games? That way more girls could be involved in something similar that don't have all the tumbling skills and other skills needed for cheering.
At least for football season there is the flag girls I think basketball season they need a dance team.

I think that's horrible. Your parents should be ashamed that you are talking to another person in that way. But I'm sure your parents are one of them who think their kid is perfect and this child should be convicted. Gracie, there are many people who do not feel that way about you. We know you just made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. Even adults. Look at Mr. Cadle. You hold your head up high and learn from your mistakes. These kids are horrible for being like that to you and you will be stronger in the end. Good Luck!

i agree with you eeinelle and also understand where some of the kids are comming from. I don't believe in bashing anyone. I am a christian but I do know first hand how cruel this girl was to a lot of us. She thinks because she is a cheerleader she is better than most when in fact we are all equal. She did make a mistake but I think she should be punished for it. She will have to answer to herself and god for what she did. And yes boys have pressured me to do things but the difference is I never gave in I knew right from wrong and I respect my body even if I am barely 16

i agree with you cheer...i went to school with the girls that were cheerleaders...i wasnt but they treated us crappy...i also agree that girl should have never been allowed to try out for cheerleading...it is almost like stealing and saying oh you made a mistake it is ok go ahead and keep it. i just dont think the showing of her body whatever parts it was is cool...if she wanted to do it i guess maybe do in private...i would hate that to happen too. i would also like to commend you for not being pushed into peer pressure, that is a tough thing to do in this day and age...you keep up doing what you are doing! good luck with the resst of your school...

Girls need to realize that there are going to be some boys that they like that DO NOT like them, that is just life. That doesn't mean that you need to do anything that you possibly can to get that boy to like you. And if there is a boy that you like and he is trying to pressure you into doing things that you know is wrong, then he is not worth liking. You should not let ANYONE pressure you into anything!

The parents of those boys also need to make their son's aware that if they receive pictures from girls like this, to get them to like them, delete it, do not forward it on or they could face sexting criminal charges, so both sides in this situation are at fault, a judge isn't going to accept boys will be boys by passing this around as a reason for it to be okay to break the law, I am sure the law can track with cellphone records what kids forwarded that picture on. Parents, if your kids sent you this picture and then you decided not to report it, and you yourself forwarded it on to others parents/friends, what a shame, you should know better too! Major child porn crime there! All adults should no better, if teachers or admins. MIGHT have done this also then look-out there could be many positions opening up at Indian Valley! I know if someone sent it to my phone/email I would be the first running to the authority's to report it, I would want my a$$ covered in this trail!
