A lot of crime reports from Manorhaven lately. It used to be called Manurehaven. You can run stop signs and speed all day in that village, have late-night backyard parties that wake up half the town, sleep off a drunk in the park overnight - and there's hardly ever a cop around. They're too busy cooping and hanging out with each other in the Sousa and Soundview lots. (Ask the local residents). No wonder the place feels more unsafe than ever.

This isn't a race or culture issue - it has to do with enforcing laws and codes. There's just a lot of slacking going on when it comes to Manorhaven and no one seems to give a damn.

I LIVED in Manorhaven 35 yrs and never had problems-
Only lately do I hear all this- I loved this little community. Only in last few years have any problems come up. We never had to fear locking doors-etc. Still usually do NOT- only small percentage of problems--

Only took 2 posts for the issue to be race. Why can't anyone see that crime is a problem regardless of whether you live in a white, black, asian, hispanic, or mixed neighborhood. The fact is 3 people decided they wanted something but did not want to go and get a job to get it themselves. IF everyone would stop bringing race into everything, maybe that would stop being an issue and real solutions could be found.

Wake up - gangs have been in Port Washington for years, and not just MS-13. Nassau COunty Police Dept. knows Port Washington is one of the top gang centers of Nassau County, right after Hempstead, Roosevelt, Uniondale and Elmont. But Port Washington is too busy thinking it's such a ritzy place. Crime is up; assaults are up; robberies are up; traffic is a nightmare (go ahead, except for the cute ladies in uniform, I dare you to find a PW cop on Main Street between 9 am and 7 pm to help traffic flow - oh wait, there is that donut-saturated blow-up guy who plays hide and seek on Saturday mornings with the crosswalk violaters - oh, I feel safer already!!!
The streets are more littered than ever, parking is impossible because the merchants take 75% of the available spots, stores are emptying out because no one can afford the rents - and the mindless commuters think they're living in Heaven because of a 30-minute ride to NYC. Tinted-window speeders buzz around with impunity, while the town's main deterrants to speeding are 2 flashing MPH signs and an empty squad car rusting across the street from the PD. What a joke. The town is decaying, and it's no wonder there's more crime and violence.
