Freedom is an illusion. What, if any, part of his actions impacted anyone else? Did it endanger anyone's life or property? And no, inconveniencing law enforcement does not count.

I remember back in the 70's a small band of us juvenile delinquents used to jump off Haulover Bridge, its so high that we had to have a guy on the the other side of the bridge to yell that no boats were coming, and it had to be an outgoing tide so you could let the current take you towards the jetty. One guy had to be even dumber and climbed the light pole and jumped, No one ever died but once the cops found us out and they warned of "Attempted Suicide" charges, we decided to go elsewhere do something else crazy stupid. Those were the days...

I will tell you how his idiot actions affected others - We had to PAY (yes the concept of taces may be a little vague to your 8th grade mind) to have him arrested, processed and now prosecuted, and then processed after that. Meanwhile the Police's attention is diverted from REAL crime. Its a public disturbance at the least, and I hope he has to re-imburse the taxpayers for what he has cost us all thanks alot jerk. I hope you dont get picked for the show

He should've jumped off the Barber Bridge in Vero--it's around the 70 ft. height that would've broken his bones. THAT would've made for some cool footage.

While it seems that the Po Lice should have more important stuff to do, it is all a matter of liability and the City, County and State governments want the police to respond in such situations to minimize liability as well as to provide real life "training" situations.

Have a nice day!

When I saw the footage on TV it looked like he was about 10 feet from where the bridge connects to the land, not in the center. It looked very wimpy, like someone was diving into their pool.

The whole idea of liability by anyone but the person committing the action should be abolished. Lawsuits are wiping out freedom in this nation.
