A man trying to save a dog being pulled into a stump grinder was caught in the machine and killed, authorities said.

Some people leave horrible comments on here. Don't be rude. He didn't think he would get swallowed in by the grinder or he wouldn't have done it. It was just a panicked moment where common sense took a back burner to try to save a animal in need. What a horrifc way to die for both the man and the puppy. God rest his soul.

This is very sad and I feel sympathy for the family.
But for God's sake secure all the animals before using power tools! This is just basic "Tools 101" type common sense.

Guys.... woods.... dogs..... tree cutting. I bet there was a fair amount of beer, too.

just senseless.

um...no one thought of shutting OFF the power to the grinder? At least when the dog's leash got tangled?

Sad and pathetic...good grief!

Once you turn these machines off they take about 3 minutes to totaly stop winding down, so it would not have helped.
