What are your feelings on the big race for judge this fall? My feeling is lets finish what we started!! We need fresh blood on the bench. A fresh mind, a nonbiased mind, someone that won't do favors for a "favor" for him. we need someone who will finish his full term that he will be elected. There is a lot at stake in this election. We did it once Mifflin County (we said bye bye to Snook) and i know we can do it again! I have faith in the voters of this great county that we will be saying good riddens to someone in November!

If enough Hoofties come out like they did for the DA race, Barron shouldn't have a problem winning.

I never had to deal with Mr. Searer, nor do I have any problems with him or his work. I was sitting on my porch in the middle of the woods on a Saturday and who drives up the driveway, but Mr. Barron. He is out there working for this campaign. Mr. Barron will get my vote.

I am new to Mifflin county but had interaction with judge Searer in Huntingdon Co. I found him to be very open and respectful. I will be voting for him. He is a good man.

Searer will most likely win and not serve his whole term. It's sad that Barron is our best choice against him. If someone else was running I would feel better, but Barron is not the guy.

Hey Johnny, your derisive term for the cultural anchor to this county shows your judgement to be very lacking. Us Amish have already talked about this, we will be there in force, and our vote will be for Barron.

If the voter turnout is similar to the previous District Attorney election, you will yield the same results.
The only platform Barron seems to be running on is term limits. What more can he bring to the bench that hasn't been brought by Searer?

Answer: Nothing

What has DA Molek brought to this county that Snook didn't.

Answer: Nothing. In fact, most attorney's will tell you that plea agreements can be reached much easier.

Lets face it, if the people who feel they can benefit from electing Barron come out in full force, this race will not even be close.

I use the term "hoofties" loosely, but come on. Drive around Lewistown any time of day and you can't miss them. Every town has them and their numbers continue to climb.

Thanks OBAMA

I could also give you 1.75 million reasons Barron would run for Judge.

Approximately,$175,000 a year times 10 year term = 1.75 million dollars

Boy that's a nice sum to build up retirement.

I would prefer a guy run who could make change. Did a fine job on the bench, but its time for new blood. Just don't think Barron is that guy.

Amish,,, it would not surprise me as to your vote. Your group is very uninformed and easily influence especially with an issue you claim to be so much against. God help Mifflin county if that joker gets elected over Searer

Calling someone names like joker is your right and youíre certainly entitled to your opinion awoi. But itís a fact that Barron has determination and integrity on his side. I live off the beaten path in Mifflin county and Barron took the time to find my home and talk to me personally. That means a lot in this day and age. Heís also doing it on his own dime. How many politicians do you know who do that these days?? Barron will have my vote.

Sorry RPA. Determination is not a requirement for that job but knowledge and common sense sure are and he lacks at both. I know the man personally and he is clueless when it comes to law. He CANNOT do the job. You'll see. Just like all the people who voted for Molek. He's a heck of a nice guy. Like him a lot. But he was not the right choice. Many victims have come to realize this. Just ask around. Just an FYI, Mifflin County does not pay county judge pensions, the state does. Feel sorry for Mifflin county it would not be a place I'd want to live or raise a family. Good luck to ya.

Guess I'd have to disagree with you on that one awoi. Headlines last week showed Barron getting a guilty verdict on the DUI that killed two people. Doesn't sound like a man who's clueless when it comes to law. Talked to a couple people who were involved with that one who said Barron did a fine job with a tricky case.

Isn't it a coincidence Barron tries his first case just in time for the election....where was he before that? Searer had many (not just one) case under his belt as District Attorney, not second assistant, before he first ran for judge. Barron's education, knowledge and experience cannot come close to Searer.

But Barrons honesty and integrity are all that matters, that wins the day over anything, and before you open yer zip there Manassas boy, look the words up and then you will know the best part of you went somewhere else, likely down someones leg.Searer is a has been, time to pack it in.

Anyone who puts this guys honesty and integrity out there seriously is clueless. He isn't squeaky clean.

Is he determined to win, sure. And I will give him credit for that. If Searer really thinks he can win without slamming Barron's experience, he will lose like Steve Snook did.

No one likes to run a smear campaign, however, if people are uninformed, they will make no other choice than to put "the new guy" in.

Where are we at with this one? I havent heard much around town. Barron seems to be putting out more signs and they definately drown out Searers. Only a couple weeks away!

I think Searer is going to find out that independents in Mifflin County has some clout.

Other than change, please explain to me why a voter would want Searer out?

I really haven't decided who I will vote for. Not a big fan of either candidate. May consider a write in vote instead.
