Well it was nice to see that Lewistown is normal. It took some balls to reject raising sewer rates but the taxes will still go up. Why don't you get rid of your own garbage business and outsource it to the private contractors and save that money? Now that Felmlee quit will they load council with another puppet? And while on spending subjects, I hear the police department is costing taxpayers more than it did with regional? Why not stop spending money on downtown projects like the fountain square project? You are going to install a fountain but in the background is an old ugly building stripped of any siding that will take away from the image of a fountion and the pretty things around it. I can't wait for the first bubble bath episode that gets dumped in it.

Sewer rates are going to go up where they will be $600/year,Granville twp already explaned that awhile ago and Derry twp. is following them with the rates now at $444/year and still going. Why shouldn't Lewistown rates go up also?

Can't say I'll miss Felmlee. Ragdoll moves to head of the table as he is Vice-President of Council. With six members on Council, vote to raise taxes may be split 3 -3 with "Old Gray Mayor" Bargo casting the deciding vote. Could be political suicide for her when she runs for re-election next year. What we need is someone with the nerve to replace her and start making the LPD follow its budget. Who cares how many weddings she performed? Anyone know where all the fees she collects goes? Not a bad second income under the table in the form of "gifts" and "gratuities." I would be curious to look and see what "lyin' Bill" has cost us this year. I drive through the parking lot by the Police Station and see at least 8 police cars. Several brand new. Not bad for a 9 man force.

Why doesn't some boro citizen get copy of their new budget and post the amount that the Pd is costing.

Short answer is .....they have spread the various costs among numerous areas and lumped LPD cost with others in that same category. In that way, most costs cannot be attributed directly to the LPD. There is a budget for the department but it is not the total cost, only what cannot be spread out and lumped together with something else.

I would like to see the total boro expenses from the year prior to the new LPD and the expenses for this year and see how much it all went up. That might give a good measure of how much the PD is costing us. I have heard that it is 1.1 million per year more than it cost us with the regional pd.

Must be trying to hide something.

I doubt your estimate is far off. All done to break Regional and give their give friend Lyin'Bill a place to hang his hat. Bill never met a budget he couldn't bust or a crime he could solve. What I would like to see is how many police calls were made before we started LPD and the number of calls now. Maybe Lyin' Bill and the boys in blue have run all the criminals out of town. I know I feel safer now.

Glad he is gone. Now maybe the other rag doll followers can grow their own set and start making informed decisions instead of being played like puppets. The borough is paying more now for service than they ever did with Regional and the service is not near as good compared to what they used to have. So in turn they are really losing when it comes to the value of past service.

Felmlee may not be at the meetings but he isn't gone. Have not yet seen where he actually tendered his resignation. He said he was done but no official action as of yet. He continues to collect his check and have a vote. Ragdoll wasn't at the recent meeting either. Guess he was still sore about some council members having their own opinion.
