There's a double standard because men and women are different.<quoted text>
Debra's not the only one to get away with it either. All females get away with it because there is a double standard when it comes to statutory rape. Men are sent away to prison, and women get probation because women having sex with underaged boys is not seen as a big deal to our society. Most people will smile, and say "what's the big deal, the boy got lucky". Whereas, if a 45 year old man has sex with an underaged girl, most people will call for him to be hung from the highest tree. Until the "justice" system starts being blind when they dole out punishment, the crime will not only continue, it will escalate.
Underage boy's don't get emptionally scarred by having sex with a godess like Ms. Lafave. Contrariwise, underage girls can/do get mentally scared and even pregnant when under-age sex occurs.
Get off the across-the-board equality BS, it's only relevant in the workplace and government service arena.
