Excuse me if I offend anyone, as a veteran I feel ok about what I feel towards these war birds. Sounds like a bunch of old farts with nothing better to do with their time and money pushing there might is right egos on folks. My grandson will find a better way with dealing with different ideologies than killing innocent men women and children in Gods name.

thinking free, nobody is forcing your grandchildren to go to the airpport, nor how to deal with different ideologies. There are no song sheets with Kumbayah, there are no man shaped silouettes at 200 yards to be taken down with a tail gun turret. Those fine flying machines are living history. When the greatist generation have all passed, these steel monuments to freedom will remain, thanks to those that spend their dollars, sweat, and love in their preservation. As to your might is right comment, I'm sure the people in Poland, France, Britain would have different opinions than yours. Perhaps you actually enjoy speaking German? May your grandson actually become a free thinker and not drink the Kool-Aide at gramma and grampas house.

This lowbrow insult was uncalled for.

Hey idiot, ask the ghosts of the Jews who died in the concentration camps, some mere infants, but guilty because they weren't what Hitler thought of as acceptable, whether these planes are a part of a pround American heritage. Too many have forgotten or deny what really happened, are you one of those enlightened such as the President of Iran.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with speaking German if it is your native language or if you choose to voluntarily learn the language. Had the United States not stepped in during World War II, much of that help coming from aircraft such as on display here, most of Europe would probably have fallen to Hitler. You know very well that was what the poster meant, not that there is anything wrong with the German language. As our older veterans pass on, we need to honor every symbol of what they accomplished. Our young men and women in the military are just as brave and just as heroic today. While they are making great sacrifices, we have to all pray they NEVER have to perform a duty on the magnitude of World War I and World War II. Our airmen, sea and foot troops accomplished so much with grit and determination. Thank you to all who have served or are serving and thank you to those who work to preserve pieces of their history.

Thanks Jason, I guess Mr. Free doesn't have good memories of his "service". He's just an agent provocateur, complaining about everything.

I will still stand by my words as some still has to speak for the innocent. Ever heard of Pol Pott, Ghengis Kahn and all the rest to numerous to name? Building more efficient methods of mass destruction a better man does not make.

As a fellow veteran, but unlike you a patriot, I'll spit at yout feet later should they cross my path. Why yes, I have heard of those people. Weapons systems like the B-17, P-51, and B-24 among others are what helped keep those monsters from placing the yoke of tyranny on more victims than they did. Obviously Mustangs and bombers didn't engage the Khan, but you get my meaning. Men with determination and weapons stood against tyranny. Don't bother speaking for the innocent. Fight to protect them. That's what we've done, that's what we do, and that's what we will continue to do... at least until... god forbid.. your kind... manages to turn the oval office and pentagon into hidey holes of useless dialog and cowardice.

If you haven't tested the water lately you,ll find your neanderthal prone thinking processes are at last becoming archaic. It may not happen in my or yours life time but war for the sake of war is fast becoming unfeasable for a multitude of reasons. My rebuttal while probably in vain ends with this question. Where did they find the weapons of mass destruction? If you have the intestinal fortitude to put an honest answer to that, there is hope for you cro-magnons yet.

Thinking free, what you're saying as that an enlightened person you'd rather live under subjugation? That explains the name you've chosen; "thinking free" instead of "living free".

A country on its own cannot assure its own peace, but one country on its own can inflict war on another. Thank you to all our brave young people past and present who have stood between us and those who wish us harm.

Sorry for the missing word above. The question is; Where did they find the weapons of mass destruction? and while you tough guys try and answer that, think about what Pres. Eisenhower said while leaving office, If of course you don't recall I'll paraphrase. he said to beware of the military, industrial and political complex. Oh yeh, That would be General Dwight D. Eisenhower for cro-magnons here. He used to be a President of the United States. He was witness to another "war" where good men died for nothing. It was supposed to be a police action, right.

Jim 2051, Jason, Pay no attention to Mr. free. He shows his true nature, which is think of himself first and foremost, and not give a damn about others. If he did "serve' any time in the military, it was to avoid something, not be truly "of Service".

Agreed, "thinking free" is merely a libertine and of no consequence. Apparently he thinks WWII planes have something to do with Saddam Husein since he keeps trying to turn this conversatin to Bush bashing. I suspect his tour of duty that he claims veteran status over merely involved smoking pot in a hooch someplace in the 'nam. Meanwhile, that link up above says the planes are in Lynchburg now. I may run down there to see them!
