For the past 1 1/2 years i've been watching the tv show In The Heat Of The Night on the WGN channel ( I originaly watched it when it was on NBC & CBS). And i was just wondering, is Mrs.O'Connor still alive? And what about her daughter-in-law & grandson? How are they doing?

Sincerely,

i think she is still alive. You need to buy the autobiography "I'm Outta Here." It's very insightful on the life of Carroll O'Connor and his family.

I have always been a fan of Carroll O'Connor, from all in the Family to In the heat of the night. I have been home bound for 3 months due to back surgery and have been watching re-runs of In the heat of the night. Thinking of Carroll and Hugh made me look them up on the internet again. Just wanted to say I think the world lost two great actors, but Hugh left us way to soon......Rest in Peace to two great actors and men.

Over the past 2.5 yrs I have been assisting an older family member with daily halthcare who always enjoys watching Re-runs of In The Heat Of The Night (Executive Producers: Carroll O'Connor & Fred Silverman). They sure did a good job producing this show! This show did a good job bringing the viewer inside a small town's police department and showing the good and bad of life in a small southern town on a daily basis. The show's producers also gave many black talented actors the chance to take major acting roles in the show and pasticipate in such a good tv production. I think this show was produced near or in Covington Georgia? If I remember correctly, I think I remember Mr. O'Connor speaking one time about the problem of having so many people who were part of the workers behind the scenes, on the set of the show who were using drugs..(cocaine). His son just could not stay away from it and it eventually killed him. Sad what drugs will do to a person; especially when somebody like Hugh O'Connor has everything in the world he could want and still loses touch of everyday life.

I was priviledged to be part of a chatroom that Carroll O'Connor was a part of. I also got an personally autographed picture of him. He was a talented man. He was a family man and hurt badly when his son Hugh died and after his death. He made great strides in changing some of the rules concerning drug pushers in California. I loved him as Archie and as Chief Bill Gillespie, but also as Carroll O'Connor. I wish his wife Nancy the best and her daughter-in-law and grandson, the same. I wish I knew where Mrs. O'Connor lived so I could write her. The one thing I didn't know about Carroll O'Connor until today was that he was diabetic. I am prediabetic. It is a hard thing to manage.

I looks like grandson Sean has a Twitter following and apparently Angela stills lives in the Pasadena area.

I also enjoy In the Heat of the Night reruns. I believe that Mrs. O'Connor is till alive. At least, her IMDB account still says so.
