Challenger Kristy Sprague defeated incumbent Julie Garcia in the race for district attorney in Essex County.
The vote: Garcia (D), 5,978; Sprague (R-C-I), 6,053.

There are still over 900 absintee ballots to be counted and Sprague was only ahead by 75 votes.

I have my fingers crossed that Sprague is the winner! The smear campaign put out by the Garcia camp changed my mind way back.

WELL, i'm thinking sprague will get most of the absentee votes because all of her family and friends are construction workers who work out of town during the week. but it will be very close, I do not think any side should claim victory yet!

tom hurt julie?????? its pretty sad she got 2 out of 3 votes in the town of moriah if that mean hurting someone i will take tom on my side anyday , also to add i am sure most of her family and friends of kristy have had their ballots in for awhile and they were some of the first to be counted. Lets not say this is done 900 votes is alot and 75 votes to overcome is going to be hard but can be done

The rest of the North country should take notice, both girls from Moriah, one gets three hundred votes more than the other! Hmmmmmm... Whats that tell the rest of you.It's a very small town, where everybody knows everybody! TO me, thats a good indication of your worth! People talk and people know.
