Is she related to Helen Spague?
yup

Aren't all Spragues in this town related?? I think she's Helen's niece. The diner closed almost 2 weeks ago. Britney is foolish to open. Balsam Hollow is closing too, first of June I heard. No business=no money.

If you don't have anything nice to say...why bother. I'll bet you're the cleanest person in town LOL.

I love the place! I am so glad someone is going to take it over! Good time of the year and the campers will be happy! Good Luck!

I can remember when Rosie Capuano ran it. That was fifty years ago! LOL!

Did it close for some other reason besides not enough business? Why would her niece take it over if there wasn't enough business?

She saw Helen struggle, so I really do not know why she would want to open it. The rent on the place is outrageous. Helen had a lot of experience, so if she couldn't make it..... I really do not see a younger person with little experience making it. Sad to say. Port Henry is going to dry up completely when Shock closes.
Also before someone says I'm bashing someone, I'm not. Realistically in this economy you'll be lucky to see any small business stay afloat.

They didn't spend much money last year in our town. The economy is worse this year. Probably be less campers this year as well.

This camper does spend money in town. In fact, I wait to do grocery shopping until I get there to support the local economy. I know others who do the same.

I spend a week in town every july and I dont spend any less than $800.00 in town and thats eating at the diners, shopping for groceries, gas, and seeing the local attractions up there so I dont think you say nobody spends their money up there. No matter what shape the economy is in if people are going to spend money they are always gonna spend money on what they want, or enjoy. even the campers that are there all season or most of the season end up spending money up there.

The diner reopened Sunday, April 11. It is called Britt's/Miss Port Henry Diner. Excellent food.
Helen didn't close because she had a lack of business. She closed (she said) because she needed a job with a regular paycheck and benefits.

How many young people do you know would do this. i know people will get on here and bash her for almost any reason because thats what makes them feel good. to hurt others. she is taking a big challenge to make this work and provide a service for us that other wise would be gone. She is young ambitious and a hard worker and she is sacraficing alot to do this 2 young children. she has my support and business please let her have yours.

Hope, you are sick small minded little person who has nothing better to do than spread hate & discontent. What does her father have to do with it. Let's get a look at your father. He might have a few problems of his own, one being you! Do us all a favor and move. I have eaten there and I thought is was outstanding. It is "Second to None!" Brit is young, but she seems to have a lot of ambition and ability. She is very friendly and has a great personality. She has some good people around her. We need as many young people, like her, as we can get in the business community. And then we need to support them if we want the area (Moriah & Port Henry to survive Good Luck Brit!! You will do just fine.
