Show to make over home in Port Deposit -

Full story: Baltimore Sun

The horses neighed nervously as cameramen and sound guys scurried among them, but somehow an animal was singled out, harnessed and mounted - by Ty Pennington himself.

"...notoriously sappy show"?

Is this "reporting" or your totally inaccurate and un-asked-for opinion?

If there were more shows like this and less of the total-sex-joke-filled nonsense that passes for TV comedy, there would be less of a migration away from Network TV. There is very little on the public airways that can be watched by a family --- "Home Makeover" is one of a tiny set.

I am exstremely happy for the Luther family. What you and your team of people do is an incredible feat to do in a week. It's one thing to see it on Tv but when you see what it does first hand well that just gets you right at the core of your soul.
God Bless you all

What an amazing thing to watch. While visiting (from Nebraska) I heard the announcement on the radio as i was getting dressed that the Extreme Makeover Show was doing a home Near where my friends live & we came up to watch on Friday!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Whats more, what a beautiful home!! I think this story touched my heart even more-so because my daughter was born with handicaps, and a Therapeutic Riding Center would have been very beneficial to her, but unfortunately she passed away in 1988 just before Christmas at the very young age of 14. God Bless people like Renee, the show Extreme Makeover & all those that pitch in to make others dreams come true....we should all be so blessed!!

I guess there is no thought put in to who really deserves the home make over. A single mother with a dying daughter and a house in dire need of repair or a single mother sitting on over a million dollars in land and had a new house built just ten years ago. Yes thatís the things that you did not hear. What about Reneeís sister who plays a huge roll in the activities that go on at the farm. Did anyone ever mention the things that Robin does for the farm and those with special needs? I just donít understand it. Yes I understand that Renee as well as her sister helps those with special needs but itís really not what itís made out to be. There is so much more to the stories that actually told. It is all for show and ďPRĒ. I guess they made their decision on what makes for a better story. I only hope that she can give back to the community what the community gave to her.

You should really find out the real facts before you go writing stuff about people. You are just a jealous and cruel person to even write stuff about people who really deserve what they get. I have to say I am ashamed that I live in the same county as you.

For the two bickering..i side with "she didnt quite deserve it". I live in walking distance, and she was already had a really nice house, it wasnt millionaire style, but it was better than alot throughout the Port Deposit area. They really should have fixed up an entire apartment complex or something, helped some poor handicap kids(like the parents of the children), single mothers(bless their hearts), or something. They could have split the cost of the PD house in two, and still had two amazing sets of property fixed up!

On the day of the reveal I was able to walk through the renovated offices, barn, and new indoor ring. Ed Sanders of the design team was still working on the new indoor riding ring, I introduced myself and thanked him for what he was doing. Ed turned to me and asked me to make him a promise, a promise to fill the new indoor riding ring with people with disabilities. I promised I would and as a member of the board of directors of Freedom Hills I plan on keeping that promise. The issue isn't whether Renee and her family are deserving, the issue is about giving. About 1500 people gave of themselves to make this dream come true, now it's up to those of us who run Freedom Hills to give back to the community. If you want to help us do that please volunteer your time at Freedom Hills, we are always in need of volunteers. If you know of someone who has a disability, let them know about Freedom Hills. What therapeutic riding does is truly a miracle - a gift from God, just as the Extreme Makeover was.
