spoken like someone that is grown up enough to recognize sex as just sex, and that's ok but for a 17 yr old that's a little tougher to recognize.
I am speaking from the pov of a father of 3 daughters and as a guy that dated younger women(NOT teenagers when I was an adult). Those younger girls were easily swayed and it wasn't too hard to convince them of things a wiser adult would never accept. As a father of daughters if I learned that a 34yr old man or woman was trying to have sex with my child I think they would be very lucky if law enforcement got them first.
It's different though when the female is the older one. Everyone keeps saying "IF it was a 34 year old man and a 17 year old girl"... and that's true. It would be MUCH worse if the man was older.

Sad that there's that double standard, but there is.

A 17 year old guy would just chalk it up to experience, whereas a 17 year old girl would probably be emotionally involved and damaged too. Girls tend to put out if they think there's love involved, or the chance that the relationship will go somewhere.

A 17 year old boy just wants to 'do it'.

The bigger question would be of the sanity of the 34 year old woman. Something must be off for her to consider a 17 year old for sex. She must be nuts.

you don't think a 17 yr old boy is emotionally invested in the relationship? he's not capable of the emotional attachment that a girl of the same age is? maybe, but there are alot of teen boys that would argue that they "love" their girlfriends if they could be committed suicide because their girlfriends broke up with them. there's more than a few boys out there that have done something really stupid for love at that age. there are even a few cases where these older female predators have coerced these boys into murder of their(the older woman's)spouse.

I get what you are saying and to some extent I agree that alot of boys are capable of having a physical relationship without the emotional attachment but not all and since the line has to be drawn somewhere and right now it's at the age of 18 I think you gotta treat this as what it is and it's a rape, by law.

look, it's not about what the BOY would or wouldn't do because he isn't old enough to do it with someone that is 34. I live in the real world, how about you? I live in a world where if the boy was a girl and the woman was a man the public would be outraged and the man would be arrested and nobody would question it. If the boy was a year older I would have nothing, because it would be legal. What I'm saying is pretty simple, anyone can get it even you. If it's ok because it's a horny boy that is in the relationship then why is it not ok for a girl the same age? I don't think you are saying that if the girl was 17 with a 34 year old man it would be ok are you? If so, what world do you live in?
There is a word that not very many people uses very often in everyday life in dealing with what is right and wrong. The word is justice. It does not matter what this boy is doing with him self. When a minor, that is under the age of 18, does anything, like this, it becomes the adult in the relationship who is the responsible party. Justice is having the law do its job, what ever anyone thinks this 17 year old has a brain and should no better is not the issue. A 34 year old female hits her husband in the face with her fist. How are you going to blame him for her actions? the problem is they are married and he is trying to be the peace maker but may end up more hurt next time. Again, justice.

your response is kinda all over the place. I think you are saying she is responsible for this as she was the adult and should have known better but then you start talking about something else? some domestic dispute that really has nothing to do with this as far as I know
