I'm an AKholic. I love mine. Of all guns, it's the most fun to use. Bad news: where I live, there's only one plinking range.

Stupid. You live in a mansion ? Then you advertise you have wealthy items inside. Condos or apartments are different. Longoria needs a longgun safe for her rifle and her jewelry.

Bullshit. It's a lite to medium gun. It's the most fun and most interesting gun. A heavy gun (a more powerful gun) is the .308 semiauto, or bigger.

The AK has the perception of being politically incorrect. It's a fun gun to me. It's not a high powered gun, but it is dangerous. Don't leave em laying around. Gangsters like them. A burglar will hardly leave it for something else.

When a cop is shot with a stolen AK, the cops and the Press will have a field day over it. Lock em up, the ammo too.

when will people have the stunning epiphany that the gun itself, an inanimate object is not the issue.....but the problem lies with the mental state or immaturity of the person who picks it up.

guns do not shoot themselves...it takes a human hand to operate it.

the human that uses it improperly is the problem....not the weapon itself

There isn't anything wrong with them. They are flawless and reliable rifles with low recoil. The AK has a bad rep for terrible accuracy, which is only a myth. The 7.62x39 isn't going to be as accurate as a .223 but it is still fairly accurate within the range it was intended for. It has equivalent ballistics of a 30-30 and nobody is complaining about the 30-30. The new Russian AK-108 uses .223 and is just as accurate as an AR-15.

i fail to see how i got the "off topic" lemon on my previous posting when the very topic is about a weapon, and i spoke of weapons....seems they need another icon that signifies "off your rocker"

Yep. I agree.

A person (a gun owner) who would leave a loaded gun accessible to kids, or leave an AK un-secured (at home) probably won't obey a law that requires guns to be locked. They're irresponsible anyway, and that type of person doesn't obey rules or laws.

Carefully or thoughtfully hiding a loaded handgun is ok, but leaving firearms with extra firepower unsecured is irresponsible.

The AK and the M16 was made for one thing to kill humans. That was what I was told in the US Army

Wow. Stupid. If you knew anything about the 2nd amendment and the ninety million American gun owners, you would know there are thousands of Americans who love and own AK-47's.

Yep! I know Ky very well, Best to stay off to yourself and see nothing. But a AK47 won't help you at all. If they want to shoot you,you will never see them. They will ambush you,you should know that. Wish you luck.
