I called Dr. Cefalu's office on Friday morning and explained that I needed a G.P. and that I saw a specialist for other health matters. I also told the receptionest that I was sick. They took my info and said we will get back to you. I was refered by an affiliate office in osprey and the nurse calls back the same day to make an appointment. I didn't go to the osprey office as it was too far. Well they never called me back Friday so I waited untill 2:30 on Monday and they at first could not find my info then I was put on hold and then she still couldn't find it. Then she found it "in the wrong pile" She said the Dr. would not be able to help me. I asked why and she said I don't know as "I was just handed this" I had explained to her earlier in the conversation that I was sick. It is obvious that I am losing my voice. She said whats wrong with you and I explained that I have been sick and was expoed to someone with pnemonia(spelling?) and she was like sorry. I can't believe that there was this big article in the paper about the Dr. helping people when she picks and chooses her patients. All I need is a G.P. Very unhappy with the treatment of this office.
Not Helpd

We were told that Dr. Cefalu was accepting new patents during a visit to the ER of Sarasota Memorial. They gave us her information. They recommended a follow up if symptoms headache, fever and rash continued. Well, it continued so we called Dr. Cafalu for a follow up appt. We needed appointment later in the day. Was told that the doctor only sees new patients during her preferred times of before 3:45 PM. Staff not helpful at all. Talked to Rochelle first and she said she would call me back. No call back. I called back and was passed to the nurse,Cynthia. I repeated everything I told Rochelle to Cynthia. Said need appointment later in the day. Was told by Cynthia that she was trying and would call me back. She called me back several hours later only to repeat that they don't take new patients past 3:45 PM in the day. Was it considered that my Mom has hada headache for 4 days, fever and rash? No, only the doctor's time was ever considered. News flash...without sick people you have no jobs. I question whether this doctor or her staff are interested in helping people who are sick or only for themselves. Forget it! Don't even bother to call these people, they will keep you waiting all day and then you won't even get an appointmen. Shame on you the staff of Dr. Cefalu's.
