After months of wrangling about the future of the Warm Mineral Springs in North Port, FL the North Port administration and Sarasota County administration made a “wise” decision to close this lake for a few months because they cannot find a solution on how to manage it. Thus both administrations abrogate the necessity of management and reject the responsibility and care of this unique resource which nature has endowed North Port. For example a few in the North Port administration have shown a decided lack of understanding of the value and the intricate influence the Warm Mineral Springs has for the city and the people of North Port. Both administrations are not able to think about the hundreds of people who are coming all the time, often with families to relax and improve their health. Many people bought homes in North Port to bathe in the lake, while many others rent often for several months. Residents of North Port have planned their businesses based on the visitors and their experiences here in North Port. Thus, many have invested capital in real estate and businesses based on the daily attraction that is Warm Mineral Springs.

In addition, at the time when the whole country from the president of the United States and employers, are concerned about the creation of new jobs, 45 workers of Warm Mineral Springs will be laid off because the administration is not able to solve the problems. They are not concerned about the fate of these workers, who suddenly find themselves on the street.

We are ashamed to say that Monday, July 1, instead of addressing these problems, the administration is arranging the sale of old or dirty chairs, which have long had to be replaced. It's a shame for the city of North Port and Sarasota county and the state in general. People are going to rallies and protests but no one pays any attention to it. If the lake is closed, hundreds of people will go to court against both administrations, and will demand compensation.

We hope that you will want to ensure that our community will maintain a good image and stop this disgrace in the city.
Sincerely,
Group of Concerned Clientele
