sells unsafe cars

New York, NY

Stay far away from this place!! I have tried to talk to the owner and cannot speak with him only Art who seems to be nice; however someone else is calling the shots. I even pulled up owner of the lot and spoke with him and he said he only rents the lot to them. I have never had to write a review like this however I would like everyone to know what happen. When I bought the car I had someone look at is as well as myself. Everything looked good with in less than a week it started making loud noises paid $600 to replace the arm of the car and 2 tires (they had the wrong size). Once I replaced the tires the noise got louder. Took back to the shop to find out the car had damage that had never been fixed that would cost another $800 to fix and was told the car is truly unsafe to drive. I was told by three placed that the only way I could have seen that the lubed the area to death is have taken off the tire. The second major thing was the compressor was going bad. I have been told by two AC shops that they put too much Freon in the car to make it blow extra cold. To fix the ac I have received repair prices from $900-$1,200. Art has offered to fix the car if I pay him $800. The third thing that needs two parts inside the engine these are $400 to fix. The total repair price would be $2,100 almost what the car is worth. I know used cars are not perfect however I did not think in a million years someone would sell an unsafe car. I have spoken with John and Art. Art seemed to feel bad and wanted to help however the owner (who you cannot talk to) will not fix the car or take back the car and give me back my $1,000. Also as some more advise Florida does not have lemon law on used cars. However they do have something that has to do with first payment default and if you turn the car back in before your first payment the car dealership has to take the car back from the bank and pay the loan off. I do not think Art knows about this but he will find out soon. Too bad Art does not work somewhere else because he does not belong with the scum that owns this dealership.

Ken, I purchased a used Dodge Ram 1500 ST. from Duval Honda on June 4, 2011 and on June 21, 2011 the engine blew up. I understand that the vehicle was sold as is and for $8500.00 I felt the vehicle would last longer than 3 weeks and less than 500 miles of use. The dealer has informed me that they are not going to do anything other than charge me $4000.00 more for a used engine I am not a rich person and it took all of my savings to purchase this vehicle. I have a part time lawn service and without this truck I can not earn a living. The problem is rather difficult for me to because without my income I am unable to take care of my family. Please let me know if you can help.

I been working at my job for 6 years i only had one raise since i been in the company. Which my company took raise out until the year 2009 they explained they will be given raises next year 2010. it has came an gone i still have not received my raise and my boss didn't put my name on the first or second list of names this year to get my evaluation from last year to receive my raise i have asked her about so many times and i have asked around to my other co-workers to see who has and hasn't received a raise and it i think i am the only one. there are people who were hired after me an have received their raise and i just think that is unfair. Is there some one that i can talk to about this? I want my raise that i have earned and if i don't go thru my proper chain of command as the company says i will get in trouble for that. they were a year late with everybody raise and no one said anything about it and the company is trying to expand on the facility this year and our raises were a year late or even overlap to the point that your second raise is due. by law isn't there a time limit that they can hold your raise?

Ken, There was a sick raccoon walking in circles in my neighborhood this morning. You could tell it was sick due to the fact it was dragging it hind leg and breathing heavy. I had my sister call Animal Control to come and get it and they advised they could not. She made several other calls including the Health Dept after being advised by the police to call them. She was told it sounded like he had distemper. The police were nice enough to call her back and she told them what was said.
The police advised her that an officer would come out. I think it is terrible that our police officers would have to handle a possibly rabid animal. My questions is....is there no one in Jacksonville that will handle a sick animal. One that could be harmful to residents and children. Also, Animal Control advised her they could not do anything UNTIL it bit someone. How sad is that.
Thank you.

I have been getting my car washed at carbux carwash on beach blvd. since september.I recently had my roight front center cap damaged at the location.I showed them that my center cap was missing. They showed me a picture of my car going into the carwash with the center cap in place. They also had the damaged center cap in their office and showed it to me.I was told that the owner would be contacting me sometime during the weekend of3/16 to 3/18.I did not hear from them.I returned on monday the 3/19 and was told by the manager that he would let the owner know I still wanted my center cap replaced and that he would be contacting me that day.I just called on 3/20 and spoke with a young lady that said she tried to call me but was unsuccessful. That they had sent me an e-mail with a site that had center caps for around $13.00.The caps are $75.00 at the dealer.I told her as long as it was in good condition for them to get me one to replace the one damamged. She told me that she would let the owner know.I still have not heard from them. What should I do to get the center cap they damaged replaced. They seem to be avoiding taking resposibility for the damage in question and I am starting to believe that if they ignore me long enough I will just go away......thanks for listening. I just heard from carbux car washes manager. He let me know he feels that the carwash did not damage the center cap, even though they have the damaged one in their office. He told me I should find one for no more than $25.00 and they would split the cost with me.That I should help them locate the center cap. They also say that it is not their problem since they have a sign that states they are not responsible for hup caps or anything else that comes off your vehicle when going thru the carwash. This is crazy! Why if it is there when entering and then not there when you leave. They have the damaged cap is it my fault and responsibility to find my own cap and get it replaced...please let me know what my options are..Dave Matthews

Hi my name is Janet. I am very confused about some legal matter concerning my husband. 27 years ago my husband was arrested due to his exwife bringing a stolen T.V. to their home and he was a convicted felon. he has since received a pardon from Governor Jeb Bush in 2002. We have also gained custody of our two Grandsons. We received full custody of them in August 2012. The boys have lived with us since the beginning of 2009. As we was going through court for custody for the boys our backgrouds were checked , we was run through the AFIS system and everything came back great. that is the words of the investigators, "GREAT". Now the problem is that he has been hunting in Camp Blanding for 9 yrs or more with a state issued hunting license, in which we all know that there is a nation wide check run before you can receive a hunting permit of any kind. Now my husband was arrested on November 19th as he was entering Camp Blanding to go hunting after the state issued him a hunting license and camp Blanding sent him a 9 day hunting permit telling him that he is allowed to be on their premises hunting. He pulled up to the gate to enter Camp Blanding as he has for years, he has been stopped to be checked before in Camp Blanding as the game wardens due routinely and there has never been a problem before. Now all of a sudden they have stoped him before he even enters the gates and arrest him and search his truck to the point of tearing it apart and for what???? He has now had to sign away his rights for good and we are being asked to come up with crazy amounts of money that we do not have. Please help me to get our story out to the public and get some help. Thankyou for your time. We look forward to hearing a response from anyone who can help.
