Hi Newbie. Is it safe? Probably not. However, I will only discuss Rotonda related matters and ignore all the other stuff...

You want on topic you elitist d*ck. How about your constant non-realylife issue about how someone built there garage back in April. You felt it should have never beem okeyed.
If the residence had put yellow outdoor buglights in, you would scream to the association.
That is the kind of nit picking crap that RW is known for. It is not the board members that bring shame to the area.
It's "anal *ssholeS such as yourself that are doing the job.
ONCE AGAIN, GET A F&CKING REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know where Derby Ave is in your home town, but the ealier poster had you nailed as an elitist d*ck.
Bump this "Snowbird"! The topic is just find if it is to your liking.

You don't like it, it is a major problem.
If it is something that does not effect you, then it is sh*t not worth talking about.

This area existed just fine with out you coming down here, and can continue to do so.

If you can not handle the problems you think are major to you, then go back to Derby Ln.

What are the thoughts of everyone on the canal bank mowing debate?

The banks have been maintained RWA until last year. It seems the contractor was doing this as favor for us,however RWA said this was a liability for them and now your problem.
RWA states in their CANAL GRADING they are responsible for new grading and maintance of banks.
Undeveloped lots have the banks done by RWA and pay they pay same assessment as developed lots which you must now take care.
Jay Lyons thinks he is above us and we have to follow his rules,my
only bosses were my parnets, but then again 425,000 per year to mow grass?
Wish I knew how thAT CONTRACT WAS AWARDED.

Does this contract go out for bid? when? I'd like to submit MY bid!
It's true some of the lots especially in the Broadmoor area are close to if not impossible for an average homeowner to maintain. Most of the mowing contractors aren't thrilled w/doing it either. Since this post is anonymous, I'll admit I've been using a Roundup type product to simply and effectively kill the vegetation along the bank. End of problem, not right maybe but lots of things aren't right. Like letting all the golf courses get away w/ allowing various species of invasive plants to grow rampant whilst homeowners are to remove said invasive plants. Oh well------

Truly unbelievable that our "community" would spend $350,000 on entrance signs. Why? We've got so many other issues that need to be addressed. I guess unless you are a friend of the board, you can't even be heard at a RWA meeting. And these people represent us????? I think not.

i live in pinehurst.
my home was built before the canal bank grade requirement was established. my home elevation is high, so the bank is steep.
the rwa mowed it 4 times a year for 18 years.now only the vacant lots on either side of me get mowed, same steep banks and they have no trouble mowing it.
i talked to the contractor about it and he said it is more trouble for him to have to go around my lot.i dont get it.
when i asked mr. perkins (pres.) about it,
his response was "if the owners dont mow it, we'll fine them"
nice !!

Anyone attend the "town hall" meeting yesterday? Amongst other topics, mention was made of ultimately owning mowing equipment rather than contracting it out. Wonder if at that time the canal banks would be mowed? After all, if the equipment is owned by the association, that DOES mean you as a land owner have paid for the equipment as well as the salaries of the operators. Hell you do that NOW but----- you get the drift I'm sure.

I totally agree - I have owned a house there for two years and the management including the board are not there in the association's best interest, for example, the big push for a new association building (Country Club). They used association funding to push this propaganda BS and thankfully the members saw through this and voted it down. I find it offensive and illegal to use assoc. funding for propaganda purposes. Also, try to get a space at the storage lot. They lie through their teeth and you will never get one unless you are one of their chosen ones. I am retiring shortly and intend to run for the board there based on honesty and root out the current "good buddy club".
Milton, get your facts straight. The "board" has nothing to do with renting spaces in the storage lot. That is a whole other entity and with that statement you are correct. The group that manages that storage lot in the center prejudiced against anyone who is not one of their chosen ones.

Geez, Budweeeeeezer -$350,000 seems like a drop in the bucket compared to what the "Rally" people wanted to spend for a bike path. They were willing to spend $1,000,000 for a bike path. When someone saved them $600,000 dollars they complained. They were gonna sue for the cheap bike path.

any board that is in place would do a better job,.if Mr. Traverso was removed. He has control of too much. people in the association should try to get him removed. The only other thing to do is go to charlotte county, and disolve this board and association, because no matter whom they vote in ,he or she are not looking out for anyones best interest, but their own.
