This team has a lot of talent & speed. They could surprise some teams at the sectional. Next year they should really be good. The town has been waiting for a good reason to cheer on the boilers & a regional championship is a great start....Good Luck in Farmington. Boilers have the best fan section and pep band in the area!

Well, I for one am glad that the sirens woke me up to alert me of this big event.

That is a ridiculous comment and reflective of all that is wrong with this town. Congrats to the Boilers for a great win! There are plenty of people in town who are proud of you and have enjoyed watching your accomplishments. Can't think of a better reason to be awakened by sirens than to have had the youth of our community actually achieve something positive rather than because the police are racing to a crime scene or an accident! After all it was just a few minutes after 10:00 -- not exactly the middle of the night! Good luck at Sectionals Boilers!

Sports are an irrelevant distraction. Huxley was right. The youth in Kewanee are neither better nor worse off as a result of a sports contest.

Trust me. None of the youth in Chilicothe are near suicidal as a result of the game, and none of Kewanee's alkies/druggies in training decided to give up their chemicals or decide to stay in town past graduation, if they even decide to stay in school.
Chemical dependency. Tight-fisted, short-sighted, idiotic business owners who don;t pay squat then wonder why they can't attract/keep "good workers." A corrupt city government. How exactly is pointing out hat a sports contest is irrelevant "symbolic of everything that is wrong with" Kewanee?
I'll turn the table on you. How is celebrating an irrelevant event while not adressing the very real problems in this town NOT symbolic of exactly what is wrong with it?
I heard the 3rd grade tiddly-wink team won a match with some booger-eaters from Geneseo. We need a parade.

Have you ever won anything in your lifetime ?? Did it not make you feel good inside ?? Doing something positive with your time instead of negative is irrelevant ?? Life is full of choices, and i believe that these young men that choose to practice hard, day after day, have learned something positive for themselves..how can that be irrelevant ???????

The youth in Kewanee didn't win or lose a damned thing. The athletes did. Let them celebrate inside, as you said yourself. Or do you think that every time someone goes and accomplishes something irrelevant to someone else needs to go through town honking their horn? "I just got a promotion due to my hard work! It's 3am in the morning! Everyone must know!"
Do you even know who Huxley was and why I mentioned him?

I see your another one of them people that look at life through "shit stained glasses" You are not the "sharpest tool in the shed" as i see it, how do you find the strength to get out of bed every day, when your so full of negative thoughts ?? Also, i doubt if the youth from Chillicothe are suicidal as a result of the game also, because they are not the team that we beat, dumb*ss !! What a piece of work you are, your parents really did a "fine job" messing your head up. GO GET HELP, its never too late !!

Um, Parent.... Chilicothe IVC LOST. I didn't say who they lost to. Nice try. For every victory that is supposed to somehow produce some wonderful, emotional response for those who had nothing to do with it, then it should follow that the youth in another city should have an opposite reaction.
Um, Kwanee and negative thinking: we live in thewhite man's version of Detroit, Flint, and Cleveland. Just the facts, ma'a, just the facts.

And, as I suspected: You hillbillys have no clue who Huxley was and why I mentioned him. Probably because you were too busy worrying about sports while you were in school, right? hahahaaaa

Okay--Initially, I thought that was just a stupid remark that you made. Now I realize that you're bonafide crazy, posting your rants on every thread on this board and just trying to push the buttons of anyone who thinks there are plenty of good people in this community, as well as in the rest of the world. Your problem -- not ours.

Go Boilers! Congratulations on a great win and Best of Luck at Sectionals!

Because it's not true.
I did go out for sports. I hated it when folks like you would sit in teh stands and say: "WE won." tell me, did YOU claim credit for every time "WE" lost, too?

As if anyone in the family besides Aldous would even be relevant about a discussion concerning entertainment and "feeling good" in a town that is literally falling apart. Nice try, redneck. What did you do, a Google search?

If you went out for sports it was only to watch the other guys in the shower/locker room, you sound like you were one of the bench warmers or the waterboy. I congratulate the team always for doing a good job every game whether they win or not. You watch way to many movies nutjob, I don't ever see anybody in the stands yelling "we won,we won" What a weirdo !!!

You have never seen any fans screaming "We're number one" in the stands or refer to a sports victory as "we won today" or anything even remotely resembling that? I mean, it's hard being in Kewanee to hear "We're number one" let alone "we won," at or after KHS games, but if you go to the south side of town (which, oddly enough, is the better side of town), you will hear that sentiment quite often.
Nice try at smack talk. But gay smack is all that is left when the rednecks, hillbillies, and other single-celled ameoba have nothing left to say.
Thanks for playing.
Do you congratulate teh KHS team for doing a good job when they lose every single game for 3 years? Are you co-dependent and rush off to the bar and drown your sorrows in alcohol? Because to share in a team's victory you must also share in their loss. But you cannot possibly do that, because you are not a participant. If you are not on the field or the court or the mat, or whatever, you will not know what it is like to actually win that event, and conversely, you will not know what it is like to lose that event.

Some? Let me guess: the first twoo paragraphs, where you put it down because there wasn't a horse or gunfight in a saloon mentioned (reference to the works of the (allegedly) "famous" Kewanee author Luke Short or Stuhly or whoever the christ he was.
Lemme sum it up for you, Charlie. In "Brave New World," the Masters keep the masses quiet and under their control by providing them constant sources of entertainment (such as sports), sex (read 2/3 of the threads in topix for Kewanee), and drugs (in the book, it is Soma, in Kewanee it is meth and beer). The sheeple of the future have no desire for critical thinking. Sound familiar, Mr. "I read some?"
So, go ahead and feel "part of the team" and celebrate your *first round* victory with late-night parades for now, you co-dependent hillbillies. "Your" team will get their asses knocked out by someone else from some other place most folks in this State probably never heard of, either.

Of course, the difference being, when the fans of that team beat Kewanee, I doubt that they will feel the need to run through their town at 10pm blaring their sirens waking uninterested folks up.
