I have a solution to stop paying the fees and count your losses.
What if in the process to retrieve the car, the car gets washed away or hit by a boulder and totalled?
then you only have to pay your deductible, and stick it to the care rental company.

So, to pinch pennies this renter went with a compact car to take way out into the soaked backwoods of Washington state.
1ST MISTAKE......
He could have easily spent more & had an SUV with 4-wheel drive.He also signed a rental agreement for the duration of his rental.{Read Fine Print}

Sooo, now that he has fallen on hard times, he wants the rental agency to eat it ! So, was he lieing when he agreed to the rental terms he signed for on the rental agreement ? He really didn't mean it when he agreed to the terms ? Ah gosh jeez, I was only joshing, I didn't really mean to return your vehicle in the same shape. In fact, I had no intensions of returning it at all.

The inability to return the PT to Thrifty was caused by an act of God. Just as Thrifty's responsibilities are limited in the contract for acts of God the renter is likewise excused. The renter did not hide it or conceal it from the company, he simply is unable to deliver the car to the Thrifty office.

Now $ 30. a day for a PT Cruiser is silly. They rent for $ 99. a week from Ajax.
