Review: Strait Health And Healing Center

This was not a "Healing" experience:
My daughter and I drove a very long drive from out of town and on our way to Forks, WA and decided that it would be nice to start our adventure off with a relaxing spa day. I
My daughter had a nightmare massage experience with Strait Health And Healing Center...being this was my daughters first massage, she didn't know what to expect and right off the bat when we asked for a hot stone massage, we kept being told by the massage therapist that she really didn't think that was something she would like, that without the stones she could work her muscles with her hands instead of the stones, yet we requested all along a hot stone massage. The only stones available were being used at the time and not available, so we felt like we were being talked into something we didn't want. I told her to go ahead and get the massage, since we were there and that she just needed to relax and there would be no talking, just peace and tranquility...that was not what she experienced, matter of fact, it was the opposite...my daughter felt violated...the massage therapist spoke the entire time and kept asking my daughter questions about her body and how important it would be for her to take anatomy to learn about her body, she commented on how pretty her hair was and exposed her bare bottom on both sides and tucked the sheets into her thong underwear and rubbed her butt with her hands...my daughter was extremely tense and uncomfortable and could not RELAX (a baby was crying the entire time), the front room where she had her massage was not quiet and voices could be heard from the lobby. The massage therapist also brushed her breast on the sides and lifted up the blanket so high that my daughter had to cover herself up with her hands as she felt she was being checked out. The massage therapist was telling her that she needed to move to Port Angeles and that she should take marital arts and other recommendations that was not necessary, along with telling her not to even drive to La Push, and even asked her to sit up and look at her to show her something on her hand. This did not seem professional at all to me and VERY INAPPROPRIATE.
We were also disappointed with our manicure/pedicures...it was more of a polish change...first of all, it was not a spa atmosphere with tape on the walls from painting and the manicurist was sitting on the ground while we put our feet in a store bought pedicure container of luke warm water and strained to lean over the cardboard table while painting our nails. No cleaning, No buffing, No filing, No Paraffin, and No trimming of the cuticles...which is normally included when you have a full manicure and pedicure, along with just a few choice colors of nail polish. Oil was dabbed around the cuticles and we walked out with oily hands.
Sorry to say...our experience was not a good one and we do not plan on returning...VERY DISAPPOINTING.

I am very sorry that your daughter had this experience and as a mother I would have reacted the same way. It was indeed very inappropriate. I hope the young lady is recovering from this and feel terribly that this took place at all. However, I would like to clarify a couple of points that will hopefully alter the perception of any reading the aforementioned letter. I personally know the 'NEW' owner of this facility, who, let me make this clear; DID NOT OWN THE BUSINESS AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT and who has consequently dismissed the therapist in question and reported her to the State Board. This facility still retains the services of three highly qualified, very professional and ethical licensed practitioners who have been in the business for over eight years on the peninsula and are good-standing in the community. This is not a spa... spa services are no longer available here, nor are manicures or pedicures. This is a center dedicated to therapeutic massage, hot stone massage, as well as offering a variety of classes, including exercise and self-growth. If you'd like to respond to the PREVIOUS OWNER her email is above, if you'd like to contact the NEW OWNER visit their new website, link above.
