What has happened to our Port Angeles paper, The Peninsula Daily News ? They continue to barrage local readers with "CRAP" from Port Townsend. We continue to wade through Port Townsend & Jefferson counties info which has absolutely no usefulness to any of us here in: Port Angeles, Joyce,Forks, Clallam Bay,Sappho,Lake Pleasant etc..
You know, THE REST OF CLALLAM COUNTY !

The PDN already prints a Port Townsend version of the PDN,(YES, IT'S TRUE ) plus there is the Port Townsend Leader. Why then bore the rest of us with GARBAGE from a bunch of elderly pot heads left over from the sixties living nostalgically thru the Irag war conflict.I could care less about a bunch of aging war protesting, pot smoking, fat chicks dressing up in halloween garb & calling themselves the raging grannies. Raging idiots is more like it.

How about the PT city council following the command of the cry baby whiner pro-testers & JUMPING on the proverbial band wagon and getting involved with national security issues. Give me a break. They are wasting tax payers time and money over there. Have they all switched from pot to CRACK ?

We here in clallam county live & breath differently than those in Port Townsend & surrounding Jefferson county. We even vote differently. Look at the last vote tallys for verification. It's unfortunate that PDN publisher John Brewer & crew has converted to the LIBERAL left wing publishing tactics & flood us with non-newsworthy kitty liner trash info. Because of the metamorphosis change over from The Peninsula Daily News to that of The Port Townsend Daily News, I now by-pass the turn off to Port Townsend completely & could care less if I ever return. I won't be spending one red cent in Jefferson county any time soon. You can thank Johnny Boy Brewer of the PDN & all the pot smoking granola eaters from PT for that ! All I wanted for christmas was our local news paper back !

Maybe the simple fact is, that Port Angeles is boring and there isn't anything news-worthy happening there. Seems to me, that might be the case.
And, I don't spend money in Port Angeles either because I'm too busy trying not to fall asleep from all the boring suburban/industrial/military-e sk scenery. Empty K-Marts and Wal-Marts are quite an eye-sore as well.
Ronster, maybe you should come to Port Townsend more often and get a diversity in your life instead dwelling on all the hate that surrounds you.

"…It's unfortunate that PDN publisher John Brewer & crew has converted to the LIBERAL left wing publishing tactics & flood us with non-newsworthy kitty liner trash info."

Hey Ronster,

Consumption of Right Wing Kool-Aid in large doses administered by the Bush Administration, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, etc., may result in frequent paranoia, blatant fear-mongering, Republican corruption and incompetence blindness, bigotry, sexism, sudden frequent personal attacks against any person or idea that may represent, or simply appear to imply a difference in opinion, sexual preference, lifestyle and/or religion, and low-information voting. Excessive consumption by politicians can also lead to loss of ethics, extreme greed, flip-flopping, election fraud, sexual preference hypocrisy, corruption indulgence, lobbyist-addiction, destruction of the middle-class, corporate-welfare, dumbing-down of America, and extreme corporate media.

Yes, the PDN has changed over the years, but it is after all a small-town newspaper. Also it is no longer titled "The Port Angeles Evening News" or "The Port Angeles Daily News," it is the "Peninsula Daily News." The last time I looked at a map, Port Townsend was on the Olympic Peninsula.

If you want a local conservative Port Angeles/West-End only newspaper, then you will have to create one yourself.

As for claiming that the PDN is a liberal paper, that is just another one of those right-wing myths frequently repeated until it appears to be true and becomes accepted as truth by those with Right-Wing Kool-Aid dependence.

Before the dumbing-down of America campaign was fully established everywhere, credible news was (usually) factual and (mostly) unbiased reporting. Opinions were posted on the editorial page and celebrities were talked about only in the gossip columns.

The PDN and it’s predecessors,“The Port Angeles Evening News” and “The Port Angeles Daily News,” have always received letter’s to the editor complaining of bias. When the facts were reported about the Vietnam War and the Johnson Administration, it was right-wing bias. When the facts were reported about Republican corruption during the Nixon Administration (Watergate) and the Reagan Administration (Iran-Contra,) then it was left-wing bias. By the time of the Clinton Administration, the conservative-corporate take-over of American media was a reality and we were being told by the conservative corporate media that “non-newsworthy kitty liner trash info” was what American’s wanted.

You are an American, aren’t you, Ronster? You must know that The PDN is just reporting and repeating the news that American want, right?

Peter, who owns this and several other newspapers is the brother of Micheal who owns several news papers, the son, recently deceased, of Harry who's company of newspapers in the mid-west are all aligned with the liberal press, pro illegal alien news syndicates in California.
I'm very concerned with liberal propaganda and the Horvitz family is way left and will probably start a Spanish paper soon to accommodate the influx of the large Criminal illegal alien invaders moving to your area as we speak.
Good luck with that.
Oh! you may want to google the most wanted lists in all the sanctuary cities, so you can get an idea of your future.

Really? We're arguing about whether PT or PA is better?

I've grown up in one, and I love to visit the other. Each place is beautiful. We are blessed to live in an area where the mountains meet the sea.

These nasty stabs at each city is childish.

I will agree that there are some eccentrics that live in Port Townsend and there are empty buildings in Port Angeles. But we are neighbors. Let's get along. ok?

As for the paper... if you don't like it, don't read it. Hop online, find a news site that suits you. simple as that.
Or better yet, write your own paper on how much you hate your neighboring cities. See how far your hate will get you.

Here is some interesting news costing us all some money (700 billion) I haven't seen in the PA Newspaper. These mortgage companies will finance anyone these days:

http://kfyi.com/pages/local_news.html... HUD: Five Million Fraudulent Mortgages Held by Illegals One illegal alien was arrested this year in Tucson after allegedly using a stolen social security number to buy two homes and rack up over $780,000 in bad debt. Some five million fraudulent home mortgages are in the hands of illegal aliens, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

It's not known how many of those have contributed to the subprime housing mortgage meltdown, but it has affected every state, including Arizona. The problem began years ago when banks were forced to give mortgages without confirming social security numbers or borrower identification. As a result, illegal immigrants were able to obtain home mortgages which they could not afford. The media has been saying that the end of the Republican party is near. After reading Dick Pilling's diatribe in the Tuesday, June 2nd paper I have to say it must be true. And he signed it the Chairman of the local Republican Party. Totally unbelievable.
