York seeks identity of woman suspected of check fraud

The checks were stolen from a victim in Virginia Beach, forged and cashed at a York County bank using identification stolen from another victim in Newport News , according to Sgt.

what makes them so sure they have the right woman's picture posted here? Isn't is possible they could be wrong and damage the rep of an innocent person? It happens you know.

Innocent? If I were a gambler, I would bet that they've already determined that this isn't the person whose checks were stolen, or whose ID was used to cash those checks. This photo was recorded at the time one of those checks was cashed, and is a permanent part of that transaction record. Not too bright, is she?
