My family went for salad and pizza. The salad was nothing special...just iceberg lettuce and a few other veggies...a little overpriced for what you got. The pizza was very good. It had a great crust and was topped nicely. We had spinach and pepperoni. We would definitely return for more pizza.

We went to The Happy Belly this past week for dinner and the food was absolutely wonderful. We both had pizza. The pizza itself looked like it had come from a pizzeria in italy. Just wonderful. As far as our service, it was mediocre to say the least. The restaurant was fairly busy, but I expect good service no matter what. Our waitresses name was Shea and its hard to say we would go back in risk of getting her for a waitress again. She was rude and slow with our drinks and food. It was as if she forgot we were even there. We were extremely disappointed. For pizza that tasted so gret, its sad that the waitress was so horrible. We would have to seriously consider going back.

It's a shame Barbara and Mike are so quick to judge. Shea is one of the best waitresses you will find anywhere. To call her rude is beyond belief. She has been at this restaurant through at least the last 3 owners and has always been someone you could count on for a friendly smile and good service. She was the senior waitress when the last 2 owners came in and had to schedule wait staff shifts as well as wait tables and keep everything else moving. Anybody can have a bad day so for somebody to come in one time and blast the waitress on the internet is ridiculous. To call Shea horrible is grossly unfair to her and to waitresses in general. Fortunately, for Happy Belly and Shea, it's the regular customers like myself that eat there 2 or 3 times a week that can give an honest evaluation and keep the restaurant in business.

Barbara and Mike I think that you might be too quick to make assumptions and to judge. My husband and I visit Happy Belly on a regular basis, in fact, we have done so through the last 3 ownership changes. I have to say that your response about Shea is not at all accurate! Shea has always been a great server! She has multiple responsiblities, and in my opinion does them all very well, especially the friendliness and helpfulness to the customer. I am sure there were some other things going on that you were not aware of...To put negative feedback specifically naming someone for your dissatisfaction out here on the internet is a shame and you might want to consider the damage you could do to someone as competent and thoughtful as Shea. Happy Belly is a good place to eat...SPECIFICALLY because of the great service you get from Shea, Kelly, Ellen and Nikki is more accurate. I do agree with Holy Crabcake that they do need more seafood, they are listening to us all adding more a little at a time!

As for Jimmy and Cheri, we had nothing bad to say about the food, and I think that is what matters in the restaurant buisness. As far as Shea goes, we may not eat there on a regular basis, but we know how the service was. She was very rude and if Im going to write a review it is going to be about our experience, good and bad. The point was that the food was great and the waitress was very unprofessional. I dont think the reviews that my husband and I write are up for discussion between customers at Happy Belly. I think the the owners would be quite appreciative for bad reviews as well as good so that they know who to weed out when necessary. I would say Happy Belly needs to weed her out.

My family and I recently "discovered" Happy Belly, and it is our new favorite restaurant in town. We have eaten in a couple of times, and the food and service were wonderful...and we have ordered pizza for take out and we love it! I am a pizza snob, and I think this is the closest to NY style pizza in this area.

Note to Barbara. Your reviews are up for discussion when you get on the Internet and blast someone who has a proven track record of professionalism and courtesy and constantly has customers come in and ask for her. It's quite obvious even to the casual observer that you have an ax to grind that has nothing to do with the service you received. If you don't think your reviews are up for discussion in a free country, I suggest you don't write them.

I have a comment for Barb and Mike,if it was so horrible then why not complain to the owners...they are there every night(since you think they would appreciate good and bad comments)...you cant miss them, he always looks like hes ready to rip someones head off! The food is ok, but without seeing the last 3 familar faces(Shea, Kelly, and Ellen) we wouldnt set foot in the place! Have you seen the other servers, or had the pleasure of one of them waiting on you? Ha! What a joke. We've been regulars for a long time..since days of the Seafood House, but since the change in owners again and the same menu every other place in Poquoson has..its probaly time to move on....maybe Hampton has a good seafood restaurant somewhere

We ate at Happy Belly tonight and were very pleased with the service, the food, and everything else. We used to eat at Vancosta's in Hampton all the time and were extremely happy to find out the owners had relocated to Poquoson with the same great food. We'll definately be regulars!

I am VERY familiar with the Happy Belly Resturant, as I have followed it from the City of Hampton to Poquoson." he always looks like hes ready to rip someones head off!" The owner was in a near fatal auto crash many months ago resulting in multipal skull fractures and is in constant pain. The gentleman was born and raised in Athens. He has served 2 years in the Marines and served as the exclusive caterer to the United States White House staff for over 10 years. The statement made by the party"it's the same old menu as every other place in Poguoson" has never opened the mind and tried the special boards menu, because you are missing something great by not trying the Greek food. Lastly but not the least, You will find that the owner is MORE than willing to set and talk to any customer about any matter you wish, IF you take the time you will find a guy that is more than willing to add to the menu. YOU WILL NEVER!!! get seafood from a can from this guy, he only uses the freshest products he can get his hands on. PARTY AND EAT AS IF IT IS YOUR LAST!

All I can say is WOW. This place is the worst food I have ever tasted in my LIFE!. My server had an attitude her shirt was wrinkled. It looked like she rolled out of bed and came to work. On top of that the "CHEF" was yelling in the restaurant in some language. Im guessing it was Arabic from the sounds of it. After I got my food, I know why he was yelling, my salad was not fresh at all, brown Iceberg lettuce, Cucumbers where bad, server could care less when I complained. There Greek food tastes like it was bought frozen, NO TASTE AT ALL!!! I wouldnt even let me dog eat this crap. I will never go back to this place again. It should be called Happy Hospital, because thats the only place you need to go after you eat there.
