carriere area

My husband recently took a job at Stennis Space Center. We are considering moving to the carriere area...we are currently living near hattiesburg. Just wondering if carriere is a nice place to live? how are the public schools? any info about the area would be appreciated!

Poplarville has better schools than the PRC school district in my opinion. There are several individuals who live in Poplarville that commute to Stennis. There may also be a van ride that your husband can join.
Carriere is a nice place; however, I think Poplarville is much nicer. Personal opinion, of course.

Live outside of city limits of P'ville or Picayune unless you like to pay city taxes..My grandkids all graduated from PRC schools..don't know anything about P'ville..But stay away from Picayune schools..they are on a downward spiral..especially the jr. high and high school. I know folks who have been teachers in Picayune school district who have quit because of unruly students...Go to www.picayunetalk.com for a local blog and ask questions on it..they will answer..

Thank you all for your help. the article on pville high was very helpful. I def do not think living in city limits of picsyune us a great idea but the county would prob be ok. I think we werk drive to pville and picayune thus wknd and see if we get a feel for which areas suit us best
