The Lamar County Board of Supervisors decided Thursday July 15th to take the tanker truck from Lumberton. So, now what happens if there is a fire? That department has came a long way in such a short period of time and now that they lost the truck it will end up looking bad on them and it's not even their faults.

Shows how much you know about the reorganized Lumberton Fire Department. Everyone on the department that drives a truck is required to have a valid drivers license and they have to submit to a background check. They are also required to take a drug test within the first 3 days. This isn't the same ole fire department.

Its funny how no matter what it is lumberton always gets a bad rap. So one question I have is if you want to talk bad about lfd what if lfd was the only one to save your house or cut you out of a car to save your life would you talk bad about it then because lfd is here for the people weather they talk bad about it or not yea lfd doesn't have a tanker anymore oh well it will get another one it may take time but the dept will make due and will keep training to do its best for lumberton and its people

Well usually it is the ones that are at fault that do most of the complaining.. There are alot of things and times that things that the LVFD do for the community that go without thougt of praise. There have been several times when they went and done community service projects for elderly and shut in that had no one to do things for them.. Maybe everyone needs to take a moment and look around not everyone want public notice.. They do it for the love of community.

Hello I'm Lawrence Harrison and I am a lawyer. I am wondering if anyone on this thread is willing or brave enough to post under their real names (other than myself) instead of remaining anonymous.

Please include your contact info. I can see a basis for a slander suit beginning here and have asked the hosting server for the IP addresses of all thread contributors.

Looking forward to hearing from you, under your real name of course.

Thanks,

People don't take the time to realize what all goes on in a FD. The long hours of class, the long hours of fighting fires or working accidents. Everything that firefighters do they take classes for. There are more and more that need to be taken. Now add in that they are on call 24/7 365 days a year. How many people can deal with that? How many people that down LVFD can get up, go to a house at midnight put on about 30 pounds of gear and go into that burning house and fight it. Sometimes for 3 to 6 hours. I know I'm one. Mr. Harrison my name is Thomas Herrin the Assistant Chief of the Lumberton Fire Dept.
