Well, the doctors do not share all the responsibility for all the problems. How many diabetics that are told to change their eating and get more exercise actually do it? How many people with cardiac and circulatory problems put down their cigarettes and booze to do their exercise? Not many!! Before you put all your blame on your doctor and hospital take a good long look at yourselves and see what you can do different to help your own health.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! We had a patient who is a diabetic, would NOT check and monitor his own blood sugar levels, take his meds, had some kind of candy all the time-not the sugar free kind, smoked like a chimney and last but definitely not least, had a foot that had gangrene set in. Why? all of the above reasons combined together included in him refusing to get an ingrown toenail removed. ALL of those things, resulted in him having a partial amputation of his foot. He was mad at the Dr's bc they couldnt do anything else for him if he would not take care of himself!! People that refuse to take heed of specific instructions from their Dr's are the ones who want to cry and whine bc they dont have a successful healing in their bodies. I dont get it. Ive seen too many surgeries of people having to be packed full of antibiotic beads bc they wouldnt leave their wounds alone, wouldnt leave their dressings on or were just flat out uncleanly people and allowed themselves to have more problems. All for what? To sue the Dr's of malpractice? Lucky for the Dr's and nurses, dictation is a powerful thing and comes in handy when rediculous patient's want to put all the blame on the Dr's!

I feel these posts are a waste of time, if any one of you were in the medical profession you would understand that the work that Doctors and Nurses do is very under appreciated. Especially in PB.

As for comments about our Doc's they would not be practicing if they did not pass boards!

As for surgeons who get bad reps, look at how many surgeries they have done? How many people who actually have insurance complain about their surgeons? Not many! PBRMC is located in the worst area, so many unemployed and disabled! Each and every one is either a freeby or you have to wait a year for the federal government to reimburse!

I feel that our hospital is wonderful and does an excellent job!

Easy to solve. Ask the state why they have inspectors there three times a week. ake a walk down the halls of this hospital and use some common sense and look around you.. beds blocking the hall. dirty linens lying on the floors. Oh, Have I mentioned Doctors and Hospitals BURY that what happenedeir mistakes.. If your loved one dies in the hospital, look closly

try Dr.Hicky! she is GREAT! I promise you wont have anything bad to say about her.. maybe a long wait but... Not usually
I was have been going to Dr. Hickey for a long time. She is the best!! But I understand she is not taking any more new patients. Too bad for all the rest of you. I also like Dr. Riffle. He saved my life once. He was able to diagnose an illness that no one else was able to diagnose, and it did save my life. He is a great guy personally and professionally.

look on casenet, and find the doc's to stay away from.
one malpractice after another.
Had sinus surgery from Carl Bosley.D.O. was not even an M.D. there behind the hospital. ended up st.louis was told I had a spinal fluid leak due to one of the seven biopsies from my sinus contained brain matter.
5 years before i was back to normal with some paralysis in my face and 1 eye gone but I can see by beautifl little boy I learned my lesson. Attorney James Bowels helped me I had a 4 year old I could not even take care of.Thanks to my family and in-laws and my great Church family i'm back to being a mommie.
WATCH OUT.KNOW YOUR doc's background first.

i use dr carda and i like her. when i got pregnant i chose her. everyone tole me the horror stories about her pulling a babys' scalp off and shit like that. seriously people, she wouldn't still be practicing if that was to have really happened. you just can't be sure. and people these days will make up anything about any doctor just to start shit. i use dr parr also. he is awesome. and i use dr jackson. best dentist ever. the only dentist i have ever used. used him for 20 plus years.

Did you ever think he has an addiction to pretty young things? Maybe he just traded booze and drugs for women, and the young ones are so bedazzled that a "DOCTOR" has the hots for them, they overlook his numerous divorces and affairs.Lots of so-called professional people are in control at work,a mess at home. My friend is a highly thought of electrician, but a verbally abusive husband, serial cheater, and honest at work but that's the only place.Known him for years and laugh at how people will wait for him to do their work because he's such an honest, great guy. No,he won't cheat you,but he'd cheat on you.
I guess it doesn't make him any less of an electrician, just less of a man.

Both Dr. and April Piland are very good and very thorough. If they think you need further evaluation, they will refer you to a specialist instead of wasting your time. It is a shame on the story about the diabetic man who would not take care of himself. A large part of diabetic care is YOURSELF. A doctor can only issue medications and make recommendations and if you do not follow them, it is YOUR fault. A lot of diabetic complications are preventable.
