I'm not bitter, just sad for people like you that haven't a clue. You want to be, or give the impression of being, someone other or better than yourself so badly.
I'm really not sure what I said that gave you that impression, but I am quite content with me. We have tons of restaurants to choose from. We can spend as much or as little as we want and dine where we want. I see no reason to beat each other up or belittle each other over it. For those who want to spend a little extra at Doc's or Castello's and think it's worth it, sobeit. For those who think it is a waste of money or pretentious to eat there, sobeit. That's the beauty of choice. There are a few restaurants in town that I choose not to eat at (for one reason or another) but choose not to attack the owners, chefs, employees, or customers of those restaurants. We all can vote with our wallets.

I like castello's and look forward to going there once in a while. If they are just like everyother country kitchen around here pb will have no where to go for special occasions. Are you still going to be fancy? I would hate to see the menu drastically changed.

it will be sad to see castello's go downhill with this guy. Seems like a ton of unnecessary drama. Where are we going to go for upscale dinning now? Are you going to still offer all the unique food that castello's is known for?

Do you seriously have to have a reservation to go to Castellos?

no....people do that to ensure that they get a table during peek times (like holidays, etc).

or to be polite and esnure that the restaurant is able to be prepared for a large group - like a group of 6 +(getting the tables together, dedicating a server, etc).

It's more etiquette instead of requirement.

So what happened at Docs Knott INN? Did I miss something?
Docs was great today

I had heard different reports on Doc's. Today, I tried it for the first time---catered in. It was AMAZING! Yum! The chicken breasts were seasoned to perfection in this cream sauce that I almost wanted to drink! The rice, salad, chocolate cake, and rolls were great. The green beans were not seasoned really well, but I added a little salt and they were good, too.
I've been to Castello's several times. The young chef there, maybe late 20's (?) has not impressed me yet. The huge shrimp cocktail is great---but that doesn't take talent. The beef filets and other meats I tried have never been anything special. Some of the appetizers are just disgusting. The desserts, salads, rolls, and potatoes have always been great.
I do not think that Doc's will suffer without whoever it is that left. I don't know one chef from another, but I do know good eating, and today the catered food from Doc's was delicous and raved about by those I ate with.
Best of luck to both Doc's and Castello's. It is nice to have several nice places to eat locally.

I and my friends have eaten quite often at Doc's Knot Inn when Ben was chef. The food was absolutely delicious, and nowhere in Poplar Bluff did we find anything like it. I was surprised to find that everything was homemade, not like the packaged salads, etc., that we found at other restaurants (tasted like packaged salads.) I will definitely go to Castello's from now on just to have Ben's wonderful food from country cookin' to Italian!

after my brief and very disappointing time with "Docs Knot Inn", I and my mother Sue Bennett, and very cabable crew, will be joining the Tinsley Family and their restaurant, "Castellos" on Oak Grove Blvd, just off north westwood blvd. We will be blending our "Comfort Food", Certified Angus Beef Steaks, Primerib, The finest in Seafood, and the Castello family traditon of Fine Italian Foods to delight your tastebuds, and provide a dining experience that is worthy of your time and money!
we will open for lunches on Tuesday September the 23rd, and will roll out our new dinner menu on Tuesday September the 30th.
Me, Mom, the Tinsley Family, and our crew, look forward to serving you, our valued friends and guests, for your dining needs, partys and banquets, and for that take home lunch or dinner when your just to busy to come by, but trust us for your lunch or dinner!
Thank You
Ben and Sue Bennett, and the Tinsleys

Is Castello's doing any hiring? I have worked for Ben and Sue before and I was just wondering if they were hiring or not. Hey Grego I guess you'll be working there, right? It was fun working with you, there was never a dull moment!
