That in itself tells you of his inability to be loyal. He must have sold his soul for his Board position in order to turn his back on his former Coach.

Do the math have you ever been to a game! The average attendance is close to 1500 a game not 300!

Why don't we wait and see what, if any, violations the investigations reveal. College sports owes it to the players, fans, and the coaches to ensure a level playing field. If the TRCC program is clean, as we expect it to be, then this will remove the allegations that have been made.

Wow seems like fishy and do the math are really upset over loosing the elections. That is why I am instructing my business's (families) have done business with a certain atty. here in town but we will begin to pull our business elsewhere, I have never seen grown men that did not get thier way be so vindictiave and childish and i am glad they lost, and they may find a few small infractions and they would at ANY program in the US if they looked, but we all know Gene Bess is a fine upstanding christain man and one of the best, if not the best coach in basketball history so Cooper, scott move on we turn you away from here, so lets see i am going to try to speak your childish way, nah-nah-nah-nah,, nah-nah-nah,nah,,, heyyyy hey heyy-GOODBYE!

It is quite obvious what is going on and until the current VPs are gone it will continue. They are responsible for almost all the troubles brought onto TRCC and conveniently try to blame a basketball coach or everything that doesn't go their way! They still control 2 board members who need to be turned out like the last 2 were on April 8th. Only when those remaining VPs and 2 Board members are gone will healing begin.
It is a shame that revenge and bitterness continue to plague TRCC. When will she leave?!?!?

Coach has been coaching basketball since most of us were children. He is not only a moral man, but he is a wise and intelligent man. He hasnt gotten this far by being ignorant of the rules. He would not purposely allow a rule to be broken. Let us wait and see what the investigation finds instead of finding him guilty without trial. I am sure he welcomes an investigation to clear this up. He knows what kind of scrutiny the program has been under and would not put it in jeopardy, because he loves the college and the kids. Nuff said.

You people give the Scotts way too much credit. I bet they enjoy the fact that you think they have so much power though. The fact is there are a lot of us in the community that are sick of being told how great Bess is because he's a "Christian" Well there are other Christians out here and we don't have to cheat to win. The State Auditor found a bunch of problems with the athletic department and the Booster Club and that's why the NJCAA is now looking into the situation. The funny thing is that it was the booster club cronies that requested the audit in the first place!

We shall in fact see what the NJCAA has to say, but is TRCC still on probation for Bess illegally using a private plane to recruit? I read on here where a few years ago the NJCAA took away some scholarships and put TRCC on probation for recruiting violations involving the use of a plane. Anybody know anything about this? I guess that may explain why he's won so many games.

What is the fascination with him? Why are so many people ready wanting to see him brought down? I would think people would be proud of what he has done. Human nature to be envious.

Like most of you have said. Lets wait and see what will be done. I think that those who are good will prevail. I think that the incumbants that are left need to be out.. and they will get what is coming to them. I wished they would focus on their part and let Bess focus on his.

Yes, some athletes do have to pay for their dorms, I did, and alot of other girls that I knew did to. Yes they are 4 bedroom apartments, but to call them luxery is a JOKE! They didn't even have the decency to clean our apartments for us before we moved in, we had to do that ourselves. My "luxery" apartment had food stains all over the floors, dead bugs in the window sill, and spider webs on the ceilings.* AND YES I WAS ON AN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP, but it was a girls athletic scholarship* As for uniforms, girls softball doesn't get 3 practice jerseys or full raiders sweatsuits from the bookstore, hell they dont even get uniforms to fit the kids that play. Bess's boys do though. They had, when i was there, and still have uniforms that are 5 different colors of black and yellow that do not match at all. If you are supposed to "Dream Big" at Three Rivers, then why do they make it so hard for the girls athletic programs to get money just to buy a uniform? I remember when I played talking to girls from other junior colleges who played in girls sports and had team cleats, travel gear, nice, up to date, new, not faded out uniforms, and bags. We beat those teams, but oh wait, I forgot, only the Mens TRCC Basketball team brings in revenue to the school. I think it is ridiculous as a student to sign somewhere to play a sport, and you have to hold fund raisers to get decent uniforms to play ball in. Its absolutly ridiculous and something needs to be done. Gene Bess, the so called Raider's Athletic Boosters, and any other board member needs to recognize the definition of the phrase -Gender Equality- and apply it to the way that they handle TRCC's Athletic Program.

Reasons more change is needed at Three Rivers Community College by Anna Boone

It looks as if an “anonymous tip” has caused the NJCAA to examine the booster club and basketball program at TRCC. If there is a problem that is further proof the leadership at TRCC has got to go!

Larry Kimbrow as the executive vice president of the college and vice president of academics is the obvious first person who needs to resign or be fired if there is a problem. Kimbrow’s job is to provide oversight to the college and as the vice president for academics to oversee the faculty at the college including the coaching staff. Kimbrow also served as president of the college while the former president was away due to illness.

Joe Rozman is the next person who should resign or be fired if there is a problem. He was the direct supervisor of the athletic program in his role as vice president for student affairs and as the interim president. Joe Rozman is now the president of the college.

Robbie Myers was the vice president for finance and the vice president for administration. Myers oversaw the business office and was involved in the oversight and audit of the booster club in the fall of 2007, any financial problems should have come to his attention. Of course Myers may lack the education and experience to provide financial oversight. The result is still the same; Robbie Myers needs to go from TRCC.

The three people chosen to look into any problems in the athletic department are Steve Cookson, Bill Hollida, and Joe Rozman. Cookson and Rozman should be immediately disqualified. Cookson is the superintendent of a nearby school district and was in trouble for his involvement in basketball recruiting violations. For Cookson to have a leadership position at two schools and both schools have problems in with the basketball program seems to be an interesting coincidence. Because Joe Rozman was in charge of oversight of the athletic program having him investigate is a conflict of interest.

More change is needed at Three Rivers Community College. Unfortunately John Stanard and friends decided to make that hard to do. Stanard and the fired former president of the college pushed for extending contracts for the vice presidents the December prior to the election where Stanard was ousted from the board.

The two new board members of Wilbur Thornton and Randy Winston are a great start to correcting the problems at TRCC. Since the last board elections, more problems covered up by the old gang running the college are coming to light. The more problems at TRCC uncovered regardless of where the problem is located are further proof the administration of TRCC needs to be replaced as soon as contracts and finances allow them to be replaced.

So the Board atty resigns the day after election. Two new Board members take office. Past college President is fired. Current Vice-President passed over for interview. New commitees formed to gain better relationship with staff.
After all that, some of you would have us believe that two deposed board members and the former atty hold some type of power at TRCC? What next? The grassy knoll? Moon landing a hoax? Simply be open to the findings of the NJCAA and Title IX. Hopefully it's all for nothing and we move forward. Otherwise it looks like we're hiding something and the suspicions will only grow in the community.

Your apartment must have been an exception to the rule because ours was nice & clean when we moved in. I would rather have to sweep away dead bugs on the window sill than chase live ones. Thank goodness they have the bug man come in every month! As for the spider webs, can you tell me your home doesn't have spiders? Most of the apartments are vacant during the summer, except for summer campers. And even then the people who work there try real hard to keep the place looking nice. It isn't easy babysitting athletes all the time. I saw many who broke their rules. Some even got kicked out for being stupid and drinking.

Try being a student with NO scholarship at all and have to pay for your apartment, classes, and your books. Stop your whining and try to be grateful for something. Being an athlete doesn't entitle you to a free ride, clohtes, and food. There are quite a few athletes who have had to pay for everything, yet still abided by the rules, worked hard, and still got to play.

not only that but we had to pay for summer classes out of our own pockets
boosters catered to the needs of the guys
softball and baseball had it worse

The women get a scholarship. Face it no-one comes to the baseball and womens basketball games. It's unfortunate but true. If your running a company you take care of the people who generate the most revenue not the least. Just the facts.
