I'm glad to see Scooters is making a comeback! Im in the poplar bluff area alot missed Scooters II, hated Whiskey Down. I just hope they decide to be a dance club!! I went out there Friday for their luau party and it looked good. Staff was great, prices were okay, could have been great except for the lack of a dj. I don't know his name but he was horrible. First he tried to play music videos which is cool except you actually have to mix them. I've been to clubs that does this and using a media player is a failure but atleast he tried. So then he tried to play music which again serious failure. The music actually stopped for a little bit. Now I wouldn't complain if it was club music or even had customers dancing but none of this happened. I actually heard him try to talk on the mic but he was complaining I do believe. Saw some people making request and he wouldnt take them which is fine but dont diss the customers if im not mistaking i do believe a djs job is to make customers happy Get rid of him and I do believe Scooters will do good. The crowd was great, staff was great except for the dumbass dj, didn't see any cops, so maybe they finally listened to all the customers. I will definitely go back but please if any Scooters Staff reads this hire a new DJ!!

I'm not a DJ out of work and I'm not a DJ! Just a person who has actually been out of the state of Missouri and has seen a REAL DJ keep a club going. It is funny how you call me a DJ just from noticing simple things. Not once did I say I could do better, I'm sure my sons iPod could do better but I'll stop there. I wish I could say it was probably a bad night for the dj but I doubt it.

Well I guess that's your opinion. It also tells me that I'm right. You've never seen a real dj or been to a real dance club. I don't have to be a wannabe or out of work dj to notice the things I did and I'm sure I'm not the only one. My point on this is to say I'm glad to see scooters is making a comeback. I loved it before and hope to love it again. I'm not on here to fight about being or wannabe a dj it's to support a club. Your entitle to your opinion.

I was invited few weeks back on facebook to attend a scooters street team meeting.I didnt go but my wifes cousin went.
She said they catered free food and had free sodas and drinks for the meeting. I didnt know what a "street team" was but she said that scooters is having these meetings to discuss the changes and their future plans and actually get feedback. Members of the stree team get paid or something to help them pass out flyers and what not. Im not totally sure but I plan on going to the next one to figure things out. At least they are starting to be interactive with people.
I like what I heard though. She said that they are going back to dance music but will also be doing a lot more live music both local and national bands. Said something about working with Bloomheavy too.
I work Saturday nights so I only go out on Friday nights so I went the last 2 fridays. I was there when the DJ mentioned above crapped out.
1) He was too focused on the minor girls dancing for him than the crowd.
2) He actually said, "If someone would pay the electric..." when the music went off. Well, if it was the electric wouldnt it have done more than mute an amp? Dumbass. If I was management, I would have fired him that night. You dont pass the blame. Even if it was faulty equipment, apologize and do something else to entertain the crowd while it gets fixed.
The pool party was fun and the wet t-shirt was wild.
This just past Friday was awesome as well. They had the pool filled up with foam and they did a "stroke off". I laughed my ass off. The had what looked like wood slats and had a group of people on with sandpaper sanding them down. The winnder got 50 bucks or something.
But, the manager even had to get onto the dumbass DJ because he wouldnt stop talking on the mic when the manager was making the announcements.
From what I understand, the Saturday DJ looks like a crackhead but is actually decent and plays a good mix.
So my pros:
A) They know that it is trial and error as it always is with new management but a least they are doing this street team to get in touch with their crowd base.
B)They are doing dance but changing it up with themes and fun games.
C) Doing live music.
D) Drink prices are reasonable
E) They do after hour breakfast buffet and serve food all night.(Actual good food like burgers)
Cons:
A) drunk waitresses
B) Disrespectful DJ
C) Needs more recent music and less gansta rap. Im tired of the cha cha slide playing every 45 minutes as well.
D) I have to order 2 drinks at a time because I get tired of waiting.
E) New sound equipment.
F) Needs to be open on more nights since I can go besides Friday.
Thats just my own input from what I seen personally and heard from my family.
Hope this helps.

Its funny, seeing as how the bartenders are all strippers from the pony, their dj is from the pony, and their security is from the pony. Even the name, street team, is from the pony. Does no one see that they are preparing everyone for when they switch to the new pony?

Yea an it gay as hell. There nothing but racist ppl that run that place an they on there if u come on after 11 u have to be. VIP well show me all the ppl that have VIP an then ill believe it I remember when the club was so packed u couldn't even get on the dance floor an it was wall to wall an now they say it's pack when there like 50 ppl. An it sucks BC no one dance music they play is gay. U can't ask them to play anything BC they wont. The real scooters need to come back when they let ppl in an it didnt matter who or what color. An stop letting all these 16 an 17 yr olds in there ill be so happy when y'all get caught. An real ppl come in an take over. An run it how its suppose to be.

intheknow, seems you go to the pony way too much.

Actually a "street team" was started by bands to help promote their music. So the pony as well as many other businesses are starting to use them.

Mark, I don't understand their VIP thing either as I heard the door guy turn some people down saying they werent members of their facebook page.(I spent a lot of the night by the door waiting on my sister) But I did witness the door guy turn back 2 groups of girls because they had someone who was only 17 and another guy away because his ID was expired. One of the minor girls was so pissed saying she wanted to talk to the owner because he knew her and the door guy told her that it didn't matter tha the rules were rules and set forth by the ownr and new manager. So maybe they are in fact changing. But like I said, I no nothing on their VIP thing or how facebook has anything to with it.

All in all, I have seen quite a bit of improvement over the last few weeks.

They best not start back serving minors. They are lucky that I didn't turn them in 2-3 years ago. I found out my friend’s daughter, 16 at the time, was going out there and drinking with her other teen friends. I asked her mother about a fake ID and she said that you didn't need one. All you had to do was flirt with the owner and you could get whatever you wanted to drink…free of charge. Evidently, the owner likes very young females and would supply them with whatever drinks they wanted. These girls were on a first name basis with the JG! Luckily, my friend went out there to watch the cage fights and found her before she had a chance to drink very much. I would have taken her straight to the police department had it been me.
