I'm not from here, so I don't know about each ortho. But I need to get braces for a short period of time. I don't have insurance and I'm in college so affordability is also a factor (cost and payment plans too). I've heard Fox is good but that he takes FOREVER! And I've already had braces for a pretty lengthy time and don't want to do all that again! Haha. Does anyone know anything about the office on PP? Just wondering! Thanks for any help!

Go to Crowe and Maguire. I had Fox look at my teeth first and he said I'd be in braces for 6 years. I went to Crowe and Maguire and they said it'd only be 1-2. So i stuck with them. Plus they were a lot nicer and more personable.

I don't see where dr. Fox 'takes forever'. If u have problems like overcrowding and u are a juvenile he will stretch your bones to accommodate your teeth (which takes a while) instead of pulling teeth out like some orthodontists will do. I used him for my braces and only wore them for a couple of years.

You cannot "stretch bones". You can wear an expander if you are still growing, which separates the two halves of the jaw and lets bone form between them. This makes more space for teeth. And this takes LESS time than braces, by the way. Crowe and McGuire do everything they can to keep from pulling teeth. I had braces there, and one of my kids had an expander and one had braces. Very, very happy with everything there.

Crowe was cheaper than the price Fox quoted, who was your original orthodontist?

Dr. Fox is by far the best. He doesn't "take forever", he knows what he's doing and makes sure your teeth are perfect. Whether you listen to him and do what he tells you is up to you. He has people from all over out of town come to him as well.

Dr. Fox was the ortho to go to when I was a kid. He did leave people in braces forever. He's had to step it up with Crowe & McGuire! His prices are more competitive too. My daughter is on her second round of braces with Crowe & McGuire & I couldn't recommend them enough! I would make a consultation visit with both of them & see which you like best.

A friend of mine was going to Fox for a few years and he couldn't finish her because some things were not right, so she transferred to Crowe. She was finished within 6 months and had a perfect smile. That is where my kids will go for sure.

Two of my children went to Fox. He is very good and I will take my third there also. He is very professional and he was good with my children. I would not recommend his staff though. They are very rude and stuck up.
