ive worked for ingram for about 10 years now and i think they are really great to work for, they have blue cross blue shield, eye, dental, ect.
there start out pay depends on how much experence you have on the river.
when all the other barge lines were laying off they was still hiring, that should tell you something.

Ingram barge treats everyone with respect. I have seen this company stick it out with their employees. When boats were tied up I picked up trash for 28 days and still recieved a full paycheck.
For those that complain, you may have a legitimate reason to. For most though what did you do to get on the bad side of the company. I have seen people ask for a job out here and then head home after a day. Most new applicants dont go one week. Did you fell the drug test, then i an glad your gone. My safety is number one.
in the beginning you knew what you were getting into. It isnt no ones fault you couldnt make it out here. The company has commitments to their customers. And with or with out you those commitment will be met.
what they charge or recieve monetarily from the customer shouldnt be our concern. You just like everyone else had to accept the pay before you started with the company. When i started i was making 60$ a day.
so please dont degrade my comany unless you have proof to back what you say.
We have the best insurance the industry offers. More time off than anyone i know. And some of the best shoreside supportive staff that anyone can ask for.

10-4 now back to the rack for me.

You think 178.00 daily is crap pay to start name a single place in poplar bluff that starts out that high. I've been with them 2 years make well over 200 a day and when i got custody of my child they put me on a schedule that had me home more often and done it in 2 days they care about our families and they provide great benefits so keep flipping your burgers and asking if you want fries with that I'll cash my check and see my family more than you will ever dream of but don't talk about a company you've never worked for

Admit it chic, you want to meet a man that brings home a decent paycheck, which is actually hard to find around here...a man who actually works. LOL.

The company, pay & benefits sounds great! I just want to know if the pay continues while at home, or is it just for the hours on the ship??? Thanks!

for all you that want to know what ingram barge pays their deckhands it is like this as i just got my folder with pay in it and my orientation date is Jan. 14th you get a 4 day orientation that pays a total of $290, then you get a 7-10 on board training at $115 a day, then after training an inexperienced deckhand starting pay is $145 a day

Orientation 4-day
total pay=$290

7-10 day on-board training
Trainee wages=$115 per day

Inexperienced Deckhand
Wages=$145 per day

Ingram will split your pay in half

$72.50 per day worked=$72.50 per day at home

14 days worked=$1015/$1015 earned while at home
(gross wages)

income factors-
trip pay
safety pay
cost of living
annual boot & winter clothing allowance

401k vision
medical prescription
dental life ins./ AD&D(no charge)
pension

AD&D = accidental death & dismemberment
